Apparently a tornado touched down on Highway 27 and horseshoe road, in the vicinity of Barrie and orillia. That is not to far from Huntsville (for those meeting up there).

As of 4:00 p.m. tornado warning for Barrie and Orillia has been lifted.

Hubby is on the way to family gathering today, had to stop in petawa area due to such hard rain, said lots of trees down, power out, first storm cell has come though the farm, rain, thunder and cracking booms but none of the signs I see normally for tornado yet, looks like at least two more cells coming in behind..

We had a tornado warning briefly for about a half an hour today. torrential rain and wind.....

lost power around 4ish, just got it back at nine, you know what I love about short term power outs.. the amazing silence.. hope everyone else is good..

Power here has been off about 2 hours so far. It most likely be some time tomorrow before I get power again. The wind has been bad enough to blow up the top of my neighbor's tree. Most of it landed in my back & side yard as well as on the roof. Took some lines down as well. About 8 houses away some poor guy lost his truck due to a tree coming down. I wonder if we had a wind burst.

Looks like my neighborhood got it bad. No power until late tomorrow 🙁

But yer a prepper oldschool - you'll just be smiling at everyone else trying to figure out what to do right :)?? I'm glad it's cooled off and hopefully they are overestimating the time required to fix it!

Hahaha you know me too well. Trees are all cleaned up. It took me just over 5 hours. Oops almost forgot the tree branch hanging between my roof & my neighbors.

Sitting in the car charging my phone. I suggested to several people on the street that we have a street BBQ tonight. I was surprised on how few people even own a BBQ. Gave my one neighbor a flashlight as she had nothing. Spent part of this morning trying to discuss if it happens again. Her answer was........she is prepared cause she has a cell phone.

One of the neighbors across the tree said the top of the tree was spinning before it broke off and ended up in my back yard. Pictures when I get a computer working.

I am a bad prepper.....I am bored. I am almost too tired to keep doing water changes on my tanks even after a nap.

It's official 🙂

I live in the hardest hit area in Hamilton. Might not have power until Monday now.
