Hello All,
I was wondering if there has been any discussion about creating a Transition Farm based on the idea of the Transition Movement. I saw a great project being started in New York:

I feel we need to start creating small self-sustaining communities, so that we can start getting hands on experience on the practical side of community building. But most people are not willing to join an ecovillage. A Transition Farm could be a way to make the transition easier. Thoughts?
There are a few TTs here or people that draw from their knowledge. I used to say "Preppers are Parasites" or they will feed off of any good information source... but that's not a great analogy. Another said, "I am a thief. I'll steal anyones good idea". I'm looking for a good analogy "To steal" that sounds alittle less creepy.
I recently heard someone on this site say, "Permies are Preppers" in a "Get over it" tone. I fully agree.
Preppers recently fully embraced all things "permaculture". TTs recently went from preparing for "peak oil and climate change" to " peak oil, climate change and economic collapse". The progressional evolution should be obvious.
Half my friends and contacts are TTs. My wife always quotes a description I made of TTs....
...as, preppers with "Less Guns. More Baked Goods" It always gets a half understanding chuckle.
I have a Tactical Harness and I have a Tool Belt. The Tool Belt is more Useful.
Preppers:Information Misappropriation Engineers.

I think the permaethos model is the best model for permanent farming.
