OK,
will need some help planning the next one. Oxfordian lives in that town, the town is close to a huge number of surrounding towns, so I think it is a good central location for the lower West Ontario Preppers.

Even from the GTA it is only about an hour and a bit. (for me though.... lots more...)

Oxfordian, or anyone else that lives in that area;
...........what we decided on last time was meeting was great, meeting in the parking lot with so many Restaurant Customers looking on, not so great.
...........Does anyone have an alternate location,
...........a secluded dead end area with a walking path
...........secluded public area
...........secluded public area near water, mini campsite
...........Crown Land with day use

I am thinking the first weekend of the month, first Saturday of the Month just to make it simple.
If I make more room in my Van, I could bring along One or Two other people from the GTA area. I think I know at least 2 who will gladly come out, although you have to share the space with Zelda, be warned she likes to sit on feet!
Although I normally stay at my parents, perhaps we could Camp over?
Some Crown Land you can do that for free, free is always good

Theme could be Shelters, camping.
So any thoughts, any comments before we make another thread?
Feedback please 💡

When we do meet,Don’t forget to bring samples of your survival recipes/food and stoves, hopefully there wont be a fire restriction. If we find a place for this, if any one has access to some fire and/or scrub wood, it wood be appreciated by us city folk. I will be bringing all my different stoves/ovens so those who don’t have one can try it out, and just in case, my propane stove as well.

I should be good to go between London and Toronto.
Just name the place and the time 🙂
Looking forward to it.

I believe there are several camp grounds along highway 5. I have not been camping locally unless you count the Scouts camp ground.

Like the idea for the next meeting. It all depends on my mom's health on whether or not I can make it to the next meeting.

I am good with an over night camping trip.
I will look into camp sites and hiking trails in the area.
Sadly, My family owns some great land for this purpose however there is no parking or easy accessability. so i'll check with some of the neighboring properties owning to see if I can't find an access point with safe parking.

Cheers

not too sure if anyone knows the area but one of the largest crown land areas in SW ontario I know of is St. Williams area, I have been there, camped, atv'd with no problem. However depending on season fires are not always allowed... Had the OPP on atv's tell me this once.

Hi All... just looking at the MNR Land use guidelines for the StWilliams land... no overnight camping now and no ATV's or horses... sigh... they keep making it "better".. or something...

Well thats a bummer! You can still ATV as long as its under 300kg , just not nearly as many trails as it used to be back in the day, oh well. I guess now that I think about it I was there back around 2005 when that new MNR guidline came out so I guess a lot has changed.

An overnight camp works for me as well. I work alternate weekends but will try to make it happen for sure. Just need a date.

Being its still april perhaps another regular meeting would be best, then camp overnight when the weather is nicer???? Anyhow anyone up for a meet and greet april 28th or may 5th? perhaps that would work out then plan the overnighter then...

I would love to meet up with some folks.
With the move my time is stretched but I am near Woodstock some of the time.
Is there another one happening in May? (I am north next weekend so wouldn't be able to come unless it was May) I can work my schedule around it if I know in advance.
