This week I bought 2 kg of whole chia seeds, 2 weeks-worth of canned food, second can opener, batteries, head led lamps from Costco (3 for $15 with batteries) and a few medical supplies for the first aid kit like polysporin for eye/ear infections, rubbing alcohol and extra bandages.

I saw these also but I think Dollarama has them also just not as good quality. If you can let me know how good they are would be greatly appreciated?
Tested them last night, they're superb, totally recommend them! These lamps have 3 settings: Extra bright, bright and flashing 🙂
We have just agreed to take in 4 more adults and 2 more kids into our group. Our house is the base and each of the 2 couples have items and/or skills that add to our weaknesses. In turn, our strengths add to their weaknesses...win/win. However, this means more food to store, even though members of our group will be bringing as much of their stash as they can...so more food items on sale. I couldn't even begin to list it all...the wife goes shopping and finds some really incredible deals! When shopping, we not only stock up on specials, but we stop by every liquidation bin we see.
We are also about to go look at a property about 1/2 acre with a mobile home for a secondary BOL.
This week...
* 12 lg cans of ready-to-eat soups ($0.88 each)
* 96 rolls of toilet paper
* Inventoried / replenished all four of our first aid kits
* Replaced the back-up batteries in both of our home's hard-wired smoke/CO detectors
* Increased our home water preps by 40 litres (to 80 litres)
* Put snow tires on my vehicle, and updated my vehicle EP kit for winter
* Began researching gas-powered electricity generators & inverters
Bring on the snow! 🙂

Just scored a wool jacket (late 60's early 70's) made in Canada to last...warm as heck...the type you repair not replace. The store had another jacket, hunter orange circa 1950-60, made in Winnipeg...thinking about it. An emergency grill (1.99) at Tooltown we will try out and maybe get a few more, HD 6x8 tarp, small first aid kit for the bag, and a little more dehydrated food.
One day, the lowly farmer will be King

The wife hates me, Cabelas loves me, and the dog the dog told me to piss off when I asked about sharing the hut for a few nights... 😆
Your wife is not into prepping?
Your wife is not into prepping?
Yes she is, 'twas a joke /// She wanted the dehydrator & I wanted the shotgun ... what she wasn't taking into consideration was my total lack of self control when it came to an "unsupervised" trip to Cabelas (hence the additional ammo for the .30-30 & the .300 win mag - in my opinion, it just wasn't fair to the other rifles if they did'nt get any ammo as well) 😀
Took a little trip to English Canada yesterday and ended up in Cornwall.
Picked up some booze at the LCBO, we don't drink much so a half dozen bottles each time we go really stocks up the barter items fast
then headed over to Food Basics on Brookdale.
They had a couple items, but one in particular was 8kg rice for $5.44!
I think it was a store special as it wasn't in the flyer.

Booze is cheaper in Ontario than it is in Quebec? I always assumed it was the other way around...

Yup, we save a couple bucks per bottle and LCBO has a lot of neat stuff that you won't find in Quebec.
If you're looking for better beer prices, Quebec has you beat.
I dont drink but I have been told that the duty free shops at the US boarder is the way to go to stock up.
