I dont drink but I have been told that the duty free shops at the US boarder is the way to go to stock up.
We found out the hard way that you have to be over the border for more than 48 hours before you get the duty free prices. Then the prices are REALLY good.
Not much lately...but NoFrills has jars of Planters Peanuts on for $2 so we got several of them.
Also picked up a bunch of $2 cans of cashew pieces the other week.
I'm the lady you're stuck behind in the grocery store with the over loaded cart filled with cases of tuna, peanut butter, huge bags of rice and the weary looking husband
We took advantage of some great sales at Canadian Tire and picked some of the tools on DH list.

Not only is beer cheeper in Quebec but the deposit is only 5C per. After you drink it in ontario (addind to our water table) you get 10c on the returns. What a bargain! 😆 😆
More thermal underwear, had to goto TSC, to find the weave type that we had in the military. That thin stuff, well might as well just have nylons on, sorry didnt mean to make anyone sick with that mental picture. 😮 😳

Any opinions on how the SOG hawks compare to the Cold Steel hawks? I was looking at picking something like that up soon. The Cold Steel Rifelman's Hawk looks pretty useful with the hammer on the back end.

Hi MikeMcG & Thank you for the post,
For the purposes I was after the SOG Fast Hawk more suited my immediate needs (among other things, I am interested in learning throwing) /// I had also looked the the Rifleman's Hawk & just found it to be a little too ungainly for what I was after, though I did find it to be well constructed /// I am happy with the Fast Hawk, that said I do plan on adding the Rileman's Hawk down the road as I can see a need for it for more of a general purpose camp tool, hatchet, ect.

Farmgal,
Nice buggy. I wants one. Maybe a little lighter weight for my somewhat lighter horses although maybe a single seater with a buckboard styling would work. Who built it for you if you don't mind me asking?
Hi OddDuck
Thanks, I have been keeping an eye on the buggy's at the farm sales over the past couple years and for the past three months I have been checking the local Kijji's and my ferrier has been keeping an eye out, this one came up for sale, it was a young man in his 20's who had left the farm, sold his horse and was storing it at a friends and wanted Christmas/school cash, and he was asking a very reasonable price as he wanted it sold now.. I lucked out that I was the first to contact him and picked it up yesterday, no idea who built it, as he bought it five years ago second hand then, he was using a regular riding horse, in fact, when my half draft is put into postion, the buggy looks on the smaller side at that point but it does fit her but I would not really want smaller for the different uses I have planned for it.
