Cut about 50 trees ready to drag out of the bush for firewood
Rotated food out of the stash
Strung some lines in the basement and started making a gill net.

Getting seed order started

Sorry Denob /// Sometimes I think I can be such Zombie Food /// Just realised your post was a answer to mine, not a statement of what you've just done recently to your own homestead - DOH!!! /// Just got child number three of six out of the house last year (for the 3rd time LOL), the other three are 10, 8 & a newly minted 6 year old as of yesterday /// addition is not quite financially possible right now as am saving for a nice large plot on the order of 300+ acres in the middle of no where to build on for 2013/14 /// Just seems everywhere I turn lately in me casa I'm tripping over somthing that I hope not to need anytime soon

Cheers Mon Ami

Looks like I managed to lose my EDC flashlight and EDC pliers. Can't find the pouch I keep them in. welp...

But on the plus side, TSC has some nice Kershaw blades on clearance this week. The Nerve is on for $10 in the flyer and the Tremor was also on the clearance table for $15 got one of each. Pretty good knives for the price. I might scoop up some extras if they're still on sale next week after payday. I also picked up a clicky tail cap for my mag-light in my get home bag/car kit. Food wise I picked up some salmon and tuna.

I've also been downloading some of the free prepper titles off amazon as they come up on the Homestead Survival Blog. There's a list of free titles pretty much every day. http://homesteadsurvival.blogspot.ca/

Food, food, and some more food.
What can I say, DW can smell a sale miles away!
Since we are about to get hit with the third winter storm in less than a week, we picked up some extra milk & bread in case we get snowed in.
Each of these storms has dumped at least a foot of snow each, so looks like school will be closed again, and traveling to work will be out of the question.
At least the family will be together for the apocalypse!

Two more huge cannisters of cashews...this time they are salted...found them on sale at NoFrills but I don't remember seeing them in the flyer...BB 2014.
Haven't seen much in the flyers the past couple of weeks...at least not things we'd put into preps.

Began serious education of my only immediate family for 1000km's to instill a sense of importance to prepping. Made them understand that it isn't about us sharing with them or not but that 1 year of food only lasts 3 months if you add 2 adults and 2 children (approx). If we're all going to survive to the harvest season, then they need to get serious as well.

This is not intended to start a debate regarding helping others. I believe that educating my closest family support is one of my most important preps. They have skills to offer in addition to being family and friends.

Bought more painkillers, toothpaste and TP
Did not drink all the rum over the holidays so I can add a bottle of white to the hole; some reason the dark rum evaporated faster?!? 😳

I concur,

Picked up a back up external hard drive for documents. Also started printing off some of the pdf books I've been accumulating from this site as well. I figure that if I'm able to transport books in a teotwawki scenario, then they are just as good as a tablet if not better in many scenarios. My fear is the weight and space of the books if a vehicle or trailer is not possible.

Also began an in-depth investigation of the chemical properties of Spiced Rum to determine if it evaporates faster when exposed to eggnog or cola... serious stuff this research is!
