6-12 lid packages of Bernardin small mouth canning lids....$1.50 a box at Dollarama! They have lots in so I'll be getting more next payday.
2 small plastic tubs for planting husband's Ghost Pepper seeds in...because those suckers are not going in my garden, I'm not risking cross pollination with my other peppers 😉

Something so spicy hot that it kills anyone who is of English/Scottish/Irish/Scandinavian bloodlines I imagine.
There is salt and there is pepper; what other flavouring could a person need I ask?!?

An extremely hot, arguably the hottest pepper on the planet.

Given that peppers easily hybridize what is this years hottest pepper on the planet is next years second hottest.

This is why he's not allowed to put it in the garden with my other hot peppers...Kung Pao, Monkey Faced pepper, Lemon hots, Jalapeno, Thai types...those may be hot but I love them, they have flavour not just heat. I'm not interested in these Ghost peppers at all.

This may seem like a weird prep to some, but we are starting a road into our 100acre piece of land. This will be our BOL and need to get a road in before a cabin up. I am currently putting every penny into this road, as this is my new prep.

Dollarama has mylar "tent" sized Emergency Camping Shelters for $2 so I picked up two of those...of course I'll pick up a couple more next time I'm in there.
They are 8'x5'/2.4m x 1.5m and come with a 20'/6m cord for setting it up between two trees.
Also picked up 2 more packages of Bernardin canning lids and a couple of plastic bins for sorting pantry items/over the counter meds into.

ETA Hamilton peoples...I find the Dollarama on Upper Wentworth an easier store to shop in, less cluttered feeling and there seems to be less "junk" in the store to sift through when your there "just looking"

Those tents are neat, and I would use them as a liner to a tarp. they too thin to be used buy them selves, in even a slight wind and a small tear they would be flapping in the wind. And yes I have 2, had 3, the 3rd was the test subject.

I'll only use them as extra large emergency blankets. I want one for in each vehicle and in go bags.

They would be good for large windows in a home to reflect the summer sun away and keep your house cooler. I used the small ones last year on our bedroom and dining room windows, kitchen door window , side door window...made a BIG difference in the house temperature.

Over the past week I've finished my solar generator with a 20w panel, purchased 2 lightweight portable hiking/camping water filtration units, and built 4 personal hygine kits.

I recently picked up a back-up power source for my cell phone. It's basically a rechargeable battery I can keep in my EDC bag to dump a charge onto my cell phone if I need it. It doesn't hold a charge as long as I hoped so I have to plug it into a wall outlet every week or so whether I use it our not, but it's come in handy a few time when my battery was almost done. It can charge my phone 2 or 3 times when it's full.

I'll probably de-winterize my car kit sometime next week.

Hopefully I can do some planting next weekend! I had a modestly successful vegetable garden last year. We're planing to double the size this year.

Storage wise, haven't done much lately.

I was hoping to do a CFS course this May, but finances have conspired against that for the time being.

I did pick up my first few Silver Maples recently though! I think I've caught the silver bug. I find my self impulsively checking my change now for old quarters and dimes... Which, combined with pennies being discontinued, seems to have thrust a new hobby upon me. I seem to have become a coin collector.

been circling the wagons with the Maxpedition product line for a while now. Finally decided to "add to cart" and "checkout". Don't have the order yet, so I can't comment yet about the quality/usefullness. Looks like good stuff though. The versapack product line isn't big enough for everything you'd ever need, but should be light enough for the kids to throw over their shoulder and help disperse the load.

Spent the weekend getting my backyard garden finished off. Planted tomatoes, beets, cucumbers, beans, squash, swiss chard, zucchini, watermelon and all kinds of herbs. All organic heirloom seeds.
