Bandit86 your forcing me to come clean....I havent actually used it so I dont know...I bought it because it was mechanicaly interesting, and if nothing else its a good hand crank mech to turn mechanical energy 90 degrees...but now its is going as a christmass present for my mother who is unable to knit because her hands are cripled up with arthritis.

I should have read further into this thread before I asked my question in a previous post. That is really nice giving it to your mother. I am a knitter and I would hate it if I could not knit because of a medical problem.
