I know we all have things we're praparing for, our motivation to prep. what we're afraid of, who we're afraid for, how we want to be able to live if and when the shit hits the fan. But all work and no play makes for a very dull prepper. So i'm wondering what some of your inspirations are. What movies you watch again and again. Which bloggers always give you the best idea, which preppers you aspire to be like, which TV shows always get you off the coach and back prepparing, which end of days books you can't put down. One of my recent favorites is a movie called "Take Shelter" staring Michael Shannon. It's a bit slow but a great movie about someone following there insticts that something bad is coming and facing the consequence of the hole town thinking he's crazy. Also a random brazilian film my husband found called Fase 7
I think it's kind of a horror/thriller movie. but the crazy neighbor is a great example of preparedness. I don't think it's English though. subtitles. Anyways, please share your inspirations for prepping. I'm sure we all have slow days when we need a little push to keep going!
I had Phase 7 out of the library...that copy had an alternate English dubbed audio...it is a good movie though!
I'm guilty of watching lots of Jeremiah Johnson (with Robert Redford). I'm inspired by the guy leaving civilization behind and carving out his own spot - trapping, hunting, and building a log house. That's my fantasy.
I like to watch any movie or show that portrays 'survivalist' events. I'm the worst to watch them with though, as I tend to critique everything.
I can't really get into zombie apocalypse movies or books. I dunno. It's zombies. How hard is it to outwit a zombie. The only type of movie I like of this kind was I am Legend (the Will Smith one).
