After reading C5's year End review on his blog..
Got me thinking it would be a great way to check in here..
How did your overall year go? Want to talk about a single project? Overview? Do not want to talk about your own, how about your area? We have had so many areas of Canada effected by so many things, how is your own neck of the woods?

Well that wasn't exactly the light reading before bed that I thought it would be. Lots of projects have been put on hold this year, mostly because we plan to move next summer. As an example, my half finished blacksmith forge and shop has alreay been moved to the new property and will likely sit there, unfinished until spring 2023, maybe fall 2022 if I'm lucky. I've actually been in planning mode for the past few months, and will continue to be for the winter. I'm looking forward to moving, but not to the schlepping of furniture and stuff. What I'm looking forward to is the flatter ground for planting a garden and getting some trees in. Yeah, I'll be just a spit and a half away from an awesome nursury that hopefully will have the zone hearty pear, apple, and nut trees I want to put in. Looking around that property a couple days ago, I found a pair of plum trees that are already producing along with some black currant bushes, what I suspect is a crabapple tree, lots and lots of summac, and a few raspberries. All this means that I will be a few years ahead on some projects, but a couple years behind on others. The priorities need to, and have been changed. For instance, instead of home canning up a bunch of produce this year, we will spend the winter eating up reserves so we don't have to move it...glass jars don't do well in the back of a UHaul on Quebec roads. All in all though, this past year went by pretty well. We were not affected by food or toilet paper shortages. We avoided the big C. The projects that were put on hold due to outrageous lumber prices are no longer required, so at least one issue that was a problem worked out to our advantage.
