Hi, I was reading a blog who says that in the States one of the best places to look for a bug out location was Idaho. I was wondering where would be the equivalent here in Quebec. I think that one of the most important issues would be Access to fresh water, and proximity to farms... (Ideally a region where their primary income comes from Agriculture) Where that would be?

My personal preference when it comes to bug-out locations is to look for a place that I could hole up for anywhere from a week to a year or even more. That being said then what I look for is...
a source of fresh water
close to possible food sources - deer, moose etc.
ability to get wood for fuel and possible building uses
high ground
easy to camouflage

What I wrote are just the very basics and while it has been a number of years since I have been to Quebec, I still believe that northern Quebec offers most if not all of the things I look for.
If you are able to purchase a few acres that have what is needed to survive especially if it is next to Crown Land then you are well on your way.
Once you have ownership of the property then you could set up a place on it to store your long term survival preparations.

Access to water isn't a big concern in the Province. However, you should avoid any water source close from farms / industrials sectors. They may contains hard to remove chemical. Any bug out location (BOL) away from cities is a good start. BOL should be reinforced with having others preppers/family closed from it. Getting part of your food from the wilderness should be ok if your > 250 km of any large populated area because deer / moose will be falling within weeks..... Store some food and keep a weel packed garden. Being surround with other preppers will be like a life insurance and it's going to be easier to protect what you stored. And keep in mind roads could be non practicable in some large SHTF scenarios.....
