Maxi -
corn on the cob - 12 / $2.00
green or yellow beans - $.99 / lb

can be cut off the cob and frozen or pressure canned

Walmart -
500 pack multi-use computer paper - $3.25

Great deal for printing out all those e-books

Remember...now is the time of year to watch out for camping gear on sale as well as cooler weather work clothing, blankets, etc.

If you don't get a Publi-Sac, go to the retailers' web sites and bookmark their flyer page so you can check regularly.
Some sites such as Canadian Tire will let you sign up to sale alerts and email you when a desired item is coming on sale.

If you have a pressure canner, wait for those 10lb bags of veggies that will be coming on sale in a few weeks and can your heart out!
If you only have a water bath canner, you can still can tomatoes and fruit like pears and peaches...just watch the flyers for the specials.

Howdy Denob,

Out West, Superstore (Loblaws) starts to clearout the camping gear about now. A few years back I got a backpack that they sold during the season for $65 + tax, for $10. It was a knockoff of a rolltop snowboard pack that MEC sold for $235. Other treats have included a propane tree for $4.

Frugal shopper be warned, get out there. 🙂

Mountainman.

Just waiting for bc peaches to come down. I waited too long last year and lost out. I saw 89 cents a pound yesterday and that might be as cheap as they get.
