A really good video of a man seeing if he can survive on his own...very honest and humbling!

Very well filmed. Interesting to see the decline of his mental state as time progresses. Something to consider for any of us who might face surviving alone.

This guy was so unprepared mentally. Has he never spent any time alone before? He didn't have nearly enough knowledge of local foods and techniques to get them and let his fears dominate his thinking.
He spent damn little time thinking about improving his situation.
He didn't set one baited trap, only dumb luck snares. No fish traps either. In fairness he could have done much better if not constrained by hunting laws.
He probably didn't sleep worth a damn he was so afraid of bears yet he didn't do much about it. He could have had his hammock 15 ft high if he thought about it.

It was educational though.
I used to think if things got bad we would have months before people got desperate. If the majority of the population is in this state a couple of weeks and we'll be at war.

As for the second vid - it's fake

I agree.

That is what I thought about when I watched the program. But I imagine that he would have had, if not a better time, then at least a bearable one if he had done a little more research before he jumped into things. And it was startling (and kind of sad) to see the decline of his mental state. He went from being thrilled at just being out there, to being in tears & depressed at his situation.
