2) statues all over the world of people with six fingers, and

If we look at the evolutionary theory as opposed to the creationist theory of how life began, we see that there was a very complicated chain of events that lead to intelligent life on Earth. Needless to say, this was a one in an astronomical chance. However, given the vastness of the universe, and the number of possible life sustaining planets, I think we would have to be rather ignorant to believe that we are the only planet that has intelligent life on it. Given that, wouldn't we have to admit that other life forms exist, could be much older than ours, more advanced than ours, and could possibly have at least visited earth, as well as other possible planets that sustain life?
Are they here living among us? Not sure on that one. I do believe that IF there is other life in the universe, it would be quite different from us, therefore, it would be difficult for another being to "hide in plain sight" among us.
Of course, there have been scams in the past that claimed to be evidence of extra terrestrial life...the famous crop circles comes to mind, but the number of ufo sightings around the world throughout history simply cannot be ignored or written off as one big scam.

I don't want to be the guy that starts the religious debate, but from my research all of religion is based on alien encounters. The Latin (modern day) bible was translated by the Greeks from the Hebrew bible, the Hebrew bible was based on Egyptian, the Egyptians based their religion on Sumerians. The Sumerians lived where the story of Adam and Eve takes place. Mesopotamia between the Tigris and the Euphrates. The truth of the story of Adam and Eve is that the Greeks were ignorant of the full Hebrew meanings and the Adam actually stands for Humanity and the Eve means beginning in the Hebrew texts. Essentially, the story of Adam and Eve is the story of the beginning of humanity. Note that the Sumerian's religion had the same story except that the name of humanity was.... Adamu... hmmm... and Eve meant the flat land, I believe, (an aka for Mesopotamia at the time). I only write this example to show the obvious correlation between the old testament and the religion of the oldest civilization known to date. The Sumerians created the time struction (60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour) They created all of our astrological references, the star signs, etc. They created mathmatics, they created aqueduct, sewage, currency. (I believe it was 5000 BC or so). On top of that... they are the only civilization in history that simply appeared... there were no smaller cities, or build up colonies... they just appeared with all of this advanced knowledge and they conveniently told the story of how they were engineered... it was just an everyday truth for them. There is basically an example to refer to the Sumerian's with every story in the old testament, Cain and Able (it actually stands for two blood lines/species of humans where one exterminated the other (LARGE SKELETON REFERENCE!) according to the Hebrew version), and believe it or not, even Jesus/ Mother Mary. The funny part is... the angels/god were the Sumerian reference for the highly intelligent being that genetically modified the current life on earth to better suite their needs.... sounds crazy huh!... well... look at corn, wheat, cloning... we do the same thing just small scale.
