(My intention is not to insult anyone here, I'm just trying to ask this question objectively and list any variables as I humbly see them)
Hey foilks,
I was just wondering if I wasn't the only one who believed that Canadians and probably even more so Quebecers are more ''asleep'' than other modern countries. For instance, we are already very used to rather socialist federal and provincial government programs ''taking care of us'' and stopping us from asking questions. Also, heavier taxation, especially in Quebec could play a role in ''sheeping'' us. I may be wrong here but Quebec also has a history of lower education levels, lower wealth levels, higher debt, higher religious involvement (mainly the Catholic church) and even xenophobia. We here in Quebec have also likely been distracted and divided more than the rest of Canada by our lagging economy, rich vs poor, language/cultural issues, constant elections and dare I even say... hockey (even though I'm a fan).
It seems like any time I bring up discussions about the elite, false flags, the economy and such to people somehow involved with the military, police or business professionals that I get labelled a conspiracy theorist immediately, without any consideration or investigation on their behalf to what I'm actually saying. People en mass are just buying the crap being told over mass media as if it was fact and all there was to know. Canada/Quebec also doesn't have any political personalities such as Ron Paul or his European homologues when we could really use one, especially with our present federal government so entangled with oil companies, the commity of 300, Bilderberg, etc.. On a provincial level, maybe parties like QS do offer a somewhat more honest alternative, but not everyone can agree with their program or ideals (at least at the moment) in order for them to get any real power.
Anyways, I'm curious to know what you all think about this subject. Looking forward to reading your replies...
Dr Beats,
I agree with most of your comment except for the last sentence. We are many people in our prepper group that have made extensive research on these topics and we would like to confirm that we believe that most of the information you are supplying in your last comment is perfectly exact and totally aligned with our libertarian-conservative mindset/worldview. Facts are facts. By the way, we are looking for new like-minded preppers like yourself who have this kind of mindset. Please contact me if you think you might be interested in joining this kind of prepper group. 😀
There are more and more people waking up everywhere in the western world and Canada is far behind. Quebec is even worst partly because of the language barrier (80% of Quebecers only speak and understand French) and also because the Quebec mainstream medias are very well controlled by a local and global elite. Many countries like France, England and the United States are at the forefront of this great awakening. Most French people (In France) who will vote for Marine Le Pen (The most likely future President of France openly oposed to this global/local elite) are aware of what we are talking about here. Same story for the people in England voting for Nigel Farage. Same story for people voting for Ron Paul/Rand Paul and Tea Party politicians in the USA. Nothing equivalent exists in Canada. More and more people in the western world are becoming conscious about all the disinformation, the lies and the brainwashing that took place over the past decades. A global and local elite controls most of our mainstream medias, influential politicians and education systems so that most people become uninformed, dumbed down and indoctrinated with lies and propaganda. This global and local elite definitely wants to implement governments that resembles more and more to totalitarian progressive/communist/fascist regimes. That is a fact and certainly not a conspiracy theory and one needs to study for a quite a while with a very open mind to understand what is really going on. We are definitely being manipulated and brainwashed by this elite who is constantly increasing its power over western world countries. We can see perpetual increases in taxes, laws, regulations, lies and brainwashing that are suffocating our western world way of life based on individual rights, liberty and morality. Our economies and citizens are suffocating because of all this progressive and neo-conservative brainwashing, over-taxation and over-regulation. We are progressively loosing our individual rights and liberties. This will end in a social and economic collapse like it always does because socialism and communism never works. Many like us believe that following the coming collapse, this global/local elite will try to establish its totalitarian regime. This is how totalitarianism gets implemented without using force and without having many people aware about the reality of the situation (a coup d’état). We also believe they will use force if necessary. Dictators often create a collapse and then try to establish their totalitarian power. People just have to study history to realize that this is just history repeating itself.
Because of our recent "Commission Charbonneau" in Quebec, many Quebecers now realize that most of our politicians are crooks and liars but they still don't understand that our mainstream medias are even worst. The worst enemy is the enemy you can't see or the enemy you are unaware of. Our mainstream medias and schools are much worst because most people still don't understand how they are being manipulated and brainwashed. Even more frightening is the depth of the manipulations. The depth of these manipulations is absolutely mind boggling.
We do not agree with your comment that describes Quebec Solidaire as being a more honest party. The biggest lie coming from Quebec Solidaire, our mainstream medias (especially Radio Canada) and our schools is probably the hiding of the true nature of Quebec Solidaire. Quebec Solidaire is very close to a true communist party hiding behind very deceptive communist expressions like "Social Progress", "Equality", "social Justice" etc... These people are "closet communists" that constantly lie and manipulate people using very deceptive communist propaganda. The radio station "Choix Radio X" in both in Montreal and Quebec City are already denouncing these Quebec Solidaire lies. Not mentioning that Quebec Solidaire is very close to a true communist party or a closet communist party is a very big lie. Its worth mentioning that 10% of Quebecers are already voting for this very progressive/communist party and that these people are totally unaware of what they are really voting for since they have never been informed properly about communism and have never been properly exposed to conservative views and our true culture based on individual rights and liberty.
Conclusion: Of course Quebec is more asleep/brainwashed than the rest of Canada and Canada is more asleep/brainwashed compared to many other western world countries like the United States, France and England.
This kind of mindset is often defined as being "libertarian-conservative" or "constitutional conservative". I am getting the feeling that preppers that have this kind of libertarian-conservative mindset should probably think very seriously about relocating to Alberta. What would be your opinion about Alberta being the best province for libertarian-conservative preppers that have this kind of mindset? What are the best places to relocate to if we want to protect ourselves against this global and local elite causing the coming social and economic collapse to establish its totalitarian power?
I would have to agree with preper007 in regards to Quebec Solidaire.
This very same realization came to me when I was watching the televised debates.
However, I would use restraint when using the terms "brainwashing" or "asleep".
These are really negative words that will immediately put off anyone you are talking to.
Unfortunately, these terms have become commonplace among cults and the completely irrational conspiracy theorists, which may explain some of the reactions that Dr. Beats has encountered.
As for everyone being asleep, well, maybe some like me, have actually listened to the Illuminati/Elite/Committee of 300/whatever and have seen so many holes in these theories that we simply don't believe that they either exist at all, or if they do (and presumably have for centuries) are completely incompetent in executing a plan.
All of the crap and garbage done to us by government is caused by greed. Greed for either money, or power...many times both.
Ever wonder why the presidents of the US likes to proclaim themselves as the "leaders of the free world"?
Bragging rights...which goes hand in hand with the greed factor.
Why did the government adopt a banking system like fractional reserve banking? To get financial support for political gain (power + money)...not to take over the world. Give the big banks the ability to create money out of thin air, and in turn, they give some of it back to your political party to help keep you in power. What is the common denominator between them? Greed.
In any way you look at it, a total collapse of the monetary system world wide could have been done already, many times over, if those supposed secret societies have the influence that many claim they do.
Every time I read about another one of these "someone is trying to destroy you" types, there is always...and I do mean always the same thing that follows their speech from the soap box...buy my book/video/other crap to find out the whole story. (hmmmm....greed again)
Are Canadians/Quebecers more asleep/sheepish/brainwashed?
From what I have seen, many of them are more awake than the average prepper.
I've had limited contact with people in Quebec, but it was immediately obvious that language is holding them back. The people I spoke with (I fumbled with Google translate because they refused to speak english) cited various societal issues and persecutions that they assumed were unique to them because they couldn't or wouldn't follow English news.
I wish it weren't the case but French as a language will die off. They can rage about it but the world is moving towards standardized communication. It will be English, or Chinese, or maybe Indian, but it sure as hell won't be French. Until they let go of the past, or we develop universal translators like in Star Trek, Quebec will always be an island.
As for Canada in general, I'm not against the general idea of our socialist programs. They actually work very well for us, despite all the bluster of paranoid Americans who think Obamacare will lead to their destruction (it will if they keep fighting about it).
That said, I do agree that Canada leads a sheltered life. We've been allowed to be pacifists because the US shoulders the brunt of law enforcement on this planet, and they happen to be our neighbors. If it weren't for them, Canada couldn't possibly exist in this form. The idea of violence, even in self defense, has become sort of distasteful in our culture because we haven't had to do much of it.
Moreover we're becoming more than a little complacent. Anti-gunners will happily point out that weapons aren't necessary because the police will show up and save them. Even though that's physically impossible in many cases. They're angling to legalize pot, even though something like 10% of users will become addicts. Doesn't matter right, society will absorb it. Somehow. Long as people are "free". Nothing to do with freedom could possibly be bad right?
And even if half of people don't vote at all, most of the ones that do are conceited enough to believe they know what they're doing. The sad truth is, most people aren't experts on anything they vote on. They vote on what sounds good, and consequently a leader can get into office while spouting utter nonsense.
This stuff will ultimately culminate in something. Whatever it is, it won't be good.
I agree with Dr. Beats and Prepper007.
Concerning the terms “brainwash” and “asleep”, these are the precise terms used by more than 100 million North Americans sharing this world view. Therefore, logically and factually speaking, we cannot categorize these millions of well-informed citizens as being a “cult” or being “completely irrational conspiracy theorists”. The use of the terms “brainwash” and “asleep” are totally right and justified because it’s the truth and because it’s necessary to use such terms. Let’s not fall into political correctness and progressive taught police actions like wanting to suppress very legitimate and appropriate terms like “brainwash” and “asleep”.
Very smart politicians, business men and researchers like Brian Lilley (Sun News), Ezra Levant (Sun News ), Ron Paul, Glenn Beck, Edward Griffin, Niguel Farage, Peter Schiff, James Wesley Rawles,) etc.. are certainly not people who are part of a “cult” or people who can be categorize as “conspiracy theorists”. These are very smart people who have studied these subjects for a very long time and they use these terms and have this world view.
Denod has obviously not studied this subject in great depth and I think this is not the place to have a long debate over this very complex and lengthy topic. One should never mix our discourse with real conspiracy theories like “chem trail”, “illuminati” etc.. By the way, the New World Order (World government) is certainly not a conspiracy theory when Jean Charest and many other world know politician and commentators like Nicolas Sarkozy, Marine Le Pen, Niguel Farage, Ron Paul, Brian Lilley etc. all talk about this New World Order. (see clips below) .
As far as we are concerned, we simply want to build a community of like-minded preppers who already share this world view. We are not interested in starting a long debate over this very complex and lengthy topic. However, this blog is the right place to mention that this world view exists among preppers and it is also a place to find like-minded preppers who share this world view. If you want to have a debate over this subject, why not have it on a more appropriate blog. Preppers who need more information about this world view can contact us directly. Preppers who think they might be interested in joining such a like-minded community can contact us by private message.
See the following clips and ask yourself if Jean Charest and the people from Sun News are a bunch of “conspiracy theorists”. By the way, our mainstream medias except Sun News are saying that this N W O is a conspiracy theory.
Brian Lilley of Sun News talking about the New World Order

Jean Charest conférence « Comment adapter le Québec au Nouvel Ordre Mondial »
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxn3pMK9kIw
Nicolas Sarkozy veut imposer un Nouvel Ordre Mondial.

So let’s stop living in denial.
Are Canadians/Quebecers more asleep/sheepish/brainwashed? Yes they are.
What people believe in as far as conspiracy theories is as different as the religion or lack thereof they believe in. Arguing somebody into believing or not believing that theory faces the same drawbacks.
>>"Concerning the terms “brainwash” and “asleep”, these are the precise terms used by more than 100 million North Americans sharing this world view."
I haven't heard 1 in 5 people use this term to refer to the state of the population, ever, anywhere, Alabama, Arizona, New Mexico, and certainly not Maryland or California. (Exception: the preparedness and firearm enthusiast websites, expos, etc., that I've visited, and I'm sure the pro-website(s) for any pick "theory" but I haven't seen 1 in 5 of the population in any of those areas present at those).
I'd kind of like the original source and poll data for that stat, if somebody has it.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure the point being made was that if you're approaching somebody new, certain things are off putting, due to the associations that have been attached to them, regardless of right or wrong.
The TV show has made the term "prepper" a little bit of a joke in a lot of circles, and given a fair bit of the population a very distinct (regardless of accuracy) impression of who is and isn't.
Likewise, "militia" has gained the implication of being at least partially anti-establishment in this country, regardless of the actual bylaws, state approval, or intent of the group.
Right or wrong, for people not involved, the terms have a negative connotation.
People also have a natural progression. Fifteen years ago, I'd have laughed at the idea of my government limiting my ability to defend myself with a gun in my own home. We as a nation have lost those rights inch by inch. When approaching people, the same inch-by-inch method tends to work much better for me, without using the televised preacher tactics or wording they may have already heard. I think that's all Denob was saying - baby steps, just like the roll-crawl-todder-walk-run progression of human locomotion.
As far as the U.S., we're right freaking behind you guys, right behind Australia and England and following the same paths. It's not a new path. It's been used since the Romans (at least). Making a people dependent on the government, promoting consumerism, encouraging distractions that keep the people divided and others that entertain without too much contemplation, controlling information, removing the ability to assemble effectively and revolt, maintaining a large class of poverty dependent on government assistance, and preventing independent, local, small-scale innovation and sustainability is kind of a template, and you see it in small ways (Nazi's) and big ones (Roman Empire). What's scary about it is the up-down sine wave of the rising and falling of civilizations that follow that model. One way or another, fast or slow, they tend to crash.
I also wouldn't count on the good ol' U.S. military too much. They're getting gutted left and right.
Cops and soldiers are likely to be offended if they're implied to be sheep, Gestapo, or brainwashed, whether they are or not. Particularly the number of cops and military or former military I see on these forums, and the ones who serve out of love (as opposed to power or paycheck/college tuition) are not going to be pleased to be looped in with any ogre in office (again, whether they are or not). The dumb kid doesn't want to be called dumb, and a smart kid might just not test well. Just saying.
Anti-gunners will happily point out that weapons aren't necessary because the police will show up and save them.
Same thing here.
Found a good one for it recently:
Lol don't forget to outlaw fire drills 😉 Nice.

And here we are...
right back to code of IPN conduct. No politics. No religion. No conspiracy theory.
When that is ignored, we have divisiveness, dehumanisation and mud slinging....instead of the free flow sharing of pure prepping skills, cooperation and encouragement.
One of the problems of this type of language is that it dehumanises, Sheeple, brainwashed, asleep, socialists, etc, it says,"If you don't believe in my ideology, you are my enemy and clearly evil". Rwanda comes to mind. For years, people heard over the radio, had repeated to them over and over that Tutsis were cockroaches. Then one morning, the patriotic Hutus woke up and slaughtered a large portion of the population.
Sooo, wile this conversation has been going on....this is part of the prepping I have been up to. My first attempt at maple sugar using a rocket stove I built. What real prepping did you do?
I have a Tactical Harness and I have a Tool Belt. The Tool Belt is more Useful.
Apologies if this post went against the coc. It makes perfect sense. I will familiarize myself with it and avoid such posts in the future.
We in fact have a place on the board where you can talk about all these things if you want to do so.. its called the fringe and any member can ask to join.. but C5 is correct, we do have rules in place.. I have been read the thread, and keeping an eye on it.. I maybe not like the terms and its walked the line a bit..
So no worries Dr. Beats.. enjoy the board and do read the coc and also consider joining the fringe, we work hard to provide a place for all on the board 🙂

Nice rocket stove...I want to build a temporary one for the same reason in the next day or two out of some bricks I have lying around.
It's a bit hard to tell in the photo, so I have to ask...how big is it?
As for my prepping, I am currently printing out a list of all the police, fire, and ems frequencies in the province to keep in my comms bag.
I found some of the frequencies used by Hydro Quebec too and may add those to my list...could come in handy to listen in to some day.

About two feet tall. It needs to go up on blocks so I don't have to bend down to cook or feed it. Truth is, I was a but underwhelmed with it. To get the real rocket part blasting and boiling, you have to feed some wood down the chimney, and constanty feeding in bottom wood keeps you by the stove. The feed angle really needs to be changed to 45 degrees so the wood self feeds in the same way a down draft stove works. It wouldn't keep the consistent temperature for the rolling boil of canning...but fantastic for any quick cooking...or slow simmer. Its one or the other
