Now I'm betting that Russia likely suspected all along that there were gas reserves in the Ukraine and yet never offered to help the Ukrainian people to become independent by tapping into them. In this way, Russia was easily painted by the US as the enemy to start all this conflict in the first place. Greed is the motivating factor(as usual) for both sides with the Ukrainian people caught in the middle....Sound familiar? You just have to look at all the other conflicts which are perpetrated in the name of freedom while the rich harvest the resources.

It was not very neighbourly of Russia to capitalize on the Ukraine but alot more justified versus the US inciting a government takeover. Why did the US (and allies) instantly back this takeover but would not support a free election? Not very democratic of us is it? This explains why the other countries of the EU are backing the US in this endevour. They EU won't have to rely on Russian Gas imports when they can get it from the Ukraine cheaper due to freeing them of Russian control.

What wasn't likely fully considered was the extent of social ties that bind Ukraine to Russia. The coming election sponsored by the EU is sure to have corrupt influence and is likely to cause the war that the Ukrainian people have fought so hard to prevent. You can easily see that the majority of the people are siding Russia, yet the EU is not halting their plans. Likely many folks in Europe can see the potential for war and many are not enthused by having Nazi affiliation and so are siding with Russia too.

Seems straight forward, yes? Why is there no mention at all is that the majority of Ukraine is waiting for Russia to finally intervene. We can see it in these other videos, the peaceful marches and protests. Why doesn't our news show any of these scenes? Where is the integrity of our news agencies today? Show us the marches and explain the will of the people with public interviews so we can feel justified in knowing that we are hearing truth and not lies.....

And what is this comparison of Putin to Hitler? Are we not the ones with Nazi affiliations and backing those who are spraying swastikas all over everything? Note that there are regular people about before they put on their display of aggression for the camera. Likely the Separatists did light the tires on fire before they left. But they are now launching rockets from fighter jets on people who have yet to be shown doing any act of aggression.

You can easily see that they are firing on unarmed civilians while large crowds of people are trying to protest their actions. You can see that thousands were involved in a peaceful protest at this time. The people are likely told not to fight back so as to show the rest of the world the unjust actions of the EU. I'm sure many of the people of west Ukraine are sympathizing with their eastern countrymen and will surely welcome Russia more eagerly, should they decide to intervene.

At 10:18 on the above link, RT news shows that NATO is holding war games near Russia's border. It further explains other forces held in reserve at this time. NATO is definitely surrounding Russia to show their resolve.

Note that Obama did not state that Russia committed some aggressive act lately that he is responding to. This obviously means that he has committed the act of aggression and now he is imposing further sanctions due to Russia finally taking the bait. These further sanctions are likely plans they wished to proceed with and are likely another part of a bigger plan. They know that they are promoting gas shortages for much of Europe with these actions, so they must have a plan on how to ease this crisis they have created. If they don't, their own European allies will turn on them too.

Now what I do is try to imagine if this scenario were reversed.... Imagine an enemy massing along the Mexican border with the US military stationed to protect this border. A war game is held nearby as a further threat...would the US retreat and send their troops back to base? No way! So this pullback tactic is not really a sound defensive move but it will definitely show the world that Russia doesn't want this fight and who really does.

NATO picked this day to have war games and obviously coaxed the Ukrainian army to take control over the eastern cities as a means to provoke a war with Russia. Likely they are afraid of the May 25 elections going poorly for them to consider this kind of action now. It would be a definite game changer if Russia continued on it's earlier action into Crimea. Russia is likely backing down to allow the elections to win the day instead and halt an enemy set on battle. I doubt that the EU will leave even if they lose the elections, but for now tensions are less only due to Russia's actions. As usual, our news tells this story in a different light.

I hope others here see things in the same manner as I do. I choose those stories with proof of events, trying to show others what the people of Ukraine see daily. I am not Ukrainian or even know anyone there. Yet I have never seen so many courageous people stand against impending violence without raising a hand. The Ukrainian people as a whole, somehow know that any violent actions on their behalf will start a battle in which their country will be destroyed as many others have who resisted similar takeovers. They were earlier divided by their mixed culture and have let others have take advantage of this. Yet they are uniting more each day by withstanding the daily provocations being set upon them by others. I hope they get their vote and get to stay independent from either side as before. Yet I do not see the EU backing down as they have committed too much into this present action to retreat. I do not see Russia as weak! I see other nations choosing sides as push will come to shove after the elections. Yet I'm guessing that something else will have to occur to prevent elections or the EU is now truly the invader in everyone's eyes.

At least the claims that pro-Russians are attacking have stopped today. I see that fear tactics are now being applied to the public to show them who is in control. The non-interference by Russia will leave many in doubt as to their future support after the elections.

Imagine if you were in their shoes:

There is a lot of anti-Russian propaganda on You Tube right now that I wade through. It is filled with basic Russian military footage playing while the commentator states Russia is interfering with upcoming elections but no examples to back up the statement. If any of this were even slightly true, it would be all over CNN immediately. It is the news that we can't get easily that I try to present as a counterbalance to that which we are swamped with daily. Lots of other footage seems to be older stuff which others are reposting as new conflicts.

It seems that any protests of great size are against the EU but then why would they not trust the elections to portray that? I hope that many impartial countries help keep the voting fair.

It is likely hard to see this objectively because the media can convincingly paint their side as the good guys. Presentation is everything! But it is obvious to see that this is a one sided event unless Russia intervenes. We now know that the NATO wants the gas reserves and also to further encompass Russia.

Will Russia allow this blatant occupation of a neighboring country? If so, will the US leave? They are there to provoke a fight... backing down will just make them reach for more. The US needs the fight to prevent the US dollar from collapse (by congress freezing all US assets in time of war). The US has been trying for a war for over 2 years and this is the closest they've come to getting one. And the elite always profit from war! Even if Ukraine stabilizes temporarily, they will have achieved in freeing the EU from Russian gas supplies. This whole event was a win-win from the start for both the US and NATO.

We are the aggressors here! We are using Ukraine for it's resources, not to free them, but to enslave them by our capitalistic leaders. They have little choice and both options are bad choices as war is likely inevitable either way! It's just they might get to pick which side Ukraine is on when the fight starts!

This is why I post this information. I want others to see who the aggressor really is. I see that you are American and know therefore that your news is even more biased than ours in Canada. I show others here daily that the news we see is not balanced. I've shown threads where even American news reporters such as Vice news shows us the other side of this conflict.

I am not on the side of the Russians. They too play the deception game, but the US is far more conniving. Putin is showing the world at present that he is not the aggressor, and this action along with his calming the situation in Syria earlier, paints NATO in a poor light. If we are to go to war over this, would you not prefer to do it with the blindfold off?

Our governments aren't even trying to cover their tracks anymore because it must seem they don't have to. Most Americans refute all the evidence proving 9/11 was staged to start this cycle of events. The trail is evident to all, but those blinded by patriotism. You likely come to this forum because you too don't swallow the crap they feed us, yet you wish to remain loyal to your country. I sympathize as my country too is part of this smoke screen. Russia sure wasn't outright being honest to their close neighbour and that is how we got our foot in the door.
