Seeing another local report of a lake with blue green algae blooms, making the water temporarily a no-go area, makes me think about what I would do if this were my only source of drinking water that was affected. Can water with blue green algae be made drinkable? I've looked online but all of the info I find just says not to drink the water or wash or swim in it. But what if it's your only option?

Is is an only an opinion, but I would think that some pre-filtering and running through a purifier like a Berkey or Sawyer 0.02 would make the water usable.
