Good use of your resources.
As for the heavyduty wheels, if they ain't broke don't fix 'em! If you need more height under the unit, you could get another set of heavyduty wheels that are the next size larger. If 2 of the wheels are the locking type, the unit should not roll.
Depending on how handy you are with materials, you may be able to modify a canvas tarp and mount it on the back of the rear seat unit so you can store a short handled shovel, axe, pick-ax, flashlight and your kukri. Never know might work.....
Post more pics when you get closer to being happy with the setup and the gear loaded.
