Are those camping stalls or parking lot stalls? I've never been there before. I was just planning on coming out for a few hours to meet people, then heading home.
If you want to park overnight it'll be $25.00
If you just want to park for the day then come on down.
BTW folks if you want a stall for an RV I need to know so I can arrange it.
Please remember also about the BBQ.
I am also in negotiation to rent a certified gun range for the second Alberta Wide Meeting, so we can burn powder while we burn Propane and briquettes. There is no power or facilities there, but I’m working on being able to park RV’s. There is also a paintball range just a few miles away so I’m going to be chatting with them too.
Just an FYI thing. If everyone is meeting at the westerner there is a $4 "parking fee per vehicle" to get into the westerner, doesn't matter how many people are in the vehicle.
Consider this my RSVP barring a national emergency at work.
It's looking like we'll be able to make it as well.
What time are we looking at? I can't find a schedule for the show.
I have tables at the show selling custom camo and stuff. I am there till 6pm when the doors close saturday night. I will be in my stall in the parking lot after that. So I hope to get the BBQ going around 7=7:30.
Sorry if that makes it late for some but this is the only weekend in May I can make something work.
I am working on the gun range/paintball range get together near Stettler for June. That will give ebveryone more time to plan plus it should be a fun weekend.
Hmmm, maybe I should rethink the quiet part...
Something else has come up. I won't be able to make it now.
Guess I will have to wait for another meet.

Is what you say worth at least a Canadian nickel now?
Cause two cents ain't worth squat anymore !

Please share the details of your get together. We had a timing conflict for this weekend so can't join you...

That is probably too late for us because the missus works nights and has to be in Calgary by 10... with the 1.5 to 2 hour drive it doesn't leave us much time for actual visiting. We have plans for the June 9th and 29th weekends as well (just a heads-up if it can be avoided).
I'm glad you're trying this on such short notice it, it's just too bad about the timing.
Hello folks, we are at this point about 24 hours away from the meeting. Looks as though there will be a dozen attendees give or take, which I am thankful for with the short notice.
Thanks for the heads up Dangphool, I will be taking suggestions from as many as possible so as many as possible can make the next meeting.
Looking forward to seeing those who can attend.

Hi gang,
I'm a newbie to prepping and I'm planning on coming down after I check out the Preparidness fair in Calgary (I'm targeting 1-2 pm in Red Deer). I look forward to meeting people and learning more about prepping. It's time for me to get off the fence 😀
See ya'll tomorrow.

Well, I'm a little late getting my questions in, but am hoping someone might be able to clarify, as I am assuming quietman will not be online today to answer them... All I can gather here is that people are meeting at Westerner Park at around 7pm... This is pretty vague... Are there any other details that were maybe decided via private messages?? I have read through the thread a couple times, and that's all I can gather... How is everyone going to find each other?? Is there something specific about the parking lot that is to be the deciding factor? I would like to go, but for that long of a drive, I sure would be burned if I got there and couldn't find everyone....again!! We tried this once in Edmonton, and the person who's vehicle was supposed to be the 'contact point' got in an accident on the way there, so nobody was able to find anybody else...(what were the chances of that happening?!!) 😆

Hello all.
It's 4:30 and the gun show at westerner park closes at 5pm. I have a stall in the campground and will have the BBQ going at 7pm.
Look for the black Jeep Cherokkee surrounded by confused people... 😀
Hmmm, maybe I should rethink the quiet part...
The Overflow parking is where they set meup but the Black cherokee is still what to look for.

A total of 7 people (2 cars from Calgary, 1 from west of Lacombe, One east of Stettler and 1 from Red Deer) made the meeting, so thanks again to those who could. A phone call was received from a vehicle broken down on the highway so 2 folks from Lethbridge had to abort. All in attendance had great conversation and shared great information on prepping subjects like solar energy deals, moving with preps from one city to another, bug out bags, bug out vehicles and for one brand new prepper; where to start.
As a preliminary to start planning the next Alberta Wide Meet & Greet, I would like to hear from those about available weekends. Graduations and summer wedding season will hit with full force in May and June, but I hope we can come up with a date to work with. The Ontario folks are having a provincial meet July 20 & 21, so maybe we can still co-ordinate something with this.
Hope to hear your ideas folks, take care.

Well on the plus side getting a new alternator today and changing it out mental note though tow truck drivers charge way to much for just driving you home lol
Preparedness is like a condom , I've rather have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it
