Fat, EMO, homosexual, Christian, Muslim, black, white, brown, how you dress are all things people judge others on.

Suppose you go to a bank and there is a teller who wears cut off jeans spattered in paint and a cowboy hat. Would you go home and tell your significant other or friend what you saw? If yes then would you do the same if they had a dress shirt and tie?

Nobody is perfect and more than likely has been the victim of a snark or an off color comment. It is human nature and should be treated as such. Utopia is a fantasy.

I would just like to clarify a few things in regards to my own comments in this thread. First of all, I believe that in a shtf scenario, you will usually only get one opportunity to make a decision, be it the right one or the wrong one. Ask yourself this. Would you feel more comfortable laying on an operating table and looking up to see a clean cut, mature, confident surgeon dressed in their doctors gown, speaking in an authoratative "matter of fact" tone of voice, or would you rather look up and see a pale man-boy with pink eye shadow all over their face, justin beiber-esque haircut, multiple face peircing, with a glassy stare mumbling to their shoes about how they have no emotions.

Secondly, this thread has spun off into a discussion about religion, stereotypes, perception of manhood, what have you. In regards to the origional comment posted by thecrier, as well as the picture posted and the discussion about the emo culture, it is defined by social dissilusion, teen angst, anti-authoratative tendancies, total disregard for the feelings of themselves and others around them. It is a culture based on internal solitude resulting from a downward spiraling emotional bottomless pit. Those arnt my views, that is a fact that is documented and can be easily researched.

Emos may survive shtf, but I woulnt bet the house on it. However just to undo any perceived prejudice I may appear as having, if I show up to the august meeting, and the person in that picture happened to be there, showing an interest as well as initiative towards prepping, then I would not be against it. My comments are not based on hate, or fear, or a belief in any kind of "ism", its simply based in my world experiences. As I said earlier, never have I seen an emo hunt, gather, homestead, etc. I would be hard pressed to look back on any emo I have. Associated with and find one that I would deem "useful" in post shtf.

See you all after.
