For those of you who may be interested, the LDS church at 14540 Parkland Blvd SE is having an Emergency Preparedness Fair on April 25 (Thurs.) from 6:30-9pm. I have no idea what will be there, just saw the sign up in our neighbourhood. We'll be checking it out.

b&c,

Awesome find.

I hope everyone in Cowtown can make it and show our support. Numbers are important at events like this.

Cheers,

Mountainman.

I've been to a couple of those emergency preparedness fairs. What I've experienced is a bunch of different stations and you learn something different from each station. It's a great opportunity to learn and ask questions. I don't know if they've decided to change their format but all I know is that it'll be interesting. Looking forward to attending 🙂

I just caught wind of another one on May 4th.

I am going to contact the LDS church and see if they can keep me updated on all of these events...
It would be great to post them whenever or wherever they come up.

We are going to check out the fair in parkland tonight. I'm hoping the family will learn something this evening.

Well, we went to the fair and really enjoyed it. It was as I predicted, different booths representing different aspects of prepping. We learn a couple of things and came away with a couple of ideas and a bunch of handouts 🙂 they had a police officer there and some people representing the Red Cross.

Rain 🙂

b&c,

Sorry. I was planning on going. I got back from the school's spring campout yesterday afternoon and forgot to turn on the computer. My bad. 🙁

I am glad to hear the fair was a success.

It was nice, I like the garden tower idea and we'll never look at toilet paper the same way 😉 I wish there were more goodies to buy there as well. It's a lot easier if Mrs. Hippie sees the items in person. I think she's a touchy feels shopper 😉

Hello Denob,

My wife and I live in Calgary. Do you have any idea if this is a go? We are newish preppers from Texas. She is originally from Calgary and I from Tennessee. We are looking to find the go-to places for preppers and network. Thanks!

Regards

Tucker & Emily
