EMP, what if you knew

Quite a while ago Tazweiss had suggested to me the concern of EMPs, whether natural or man-made.Imagine, that right this second an EMP struck. Every unprotected piece of electronics and the power grid suddenly gone. Cars slowly rolling to a stop. And all the rest.Now if you were standing there in the eerie silence, what advice would you give your self 24 hours earlier? What would you tell yourself to do and get finished?Build that Faraday cage and stash everything inside?Buy some old junker car that has no solid state electronics?Run to the grocery store and load up on food? But what kind?Specifically, if you knew for certain that you only had 24 hours to get ready,what would you do and who would you tell?

Ranger you have made a few references to March 2013 in your posts. I have seen this date quoted on other sites too. However I could not come up with a source for that date other than Web Bot which predicts a "data gap" in 2012 running through May 2013. Can you help me out with this one?
