I’ve communicated with a gentleman who hears a continuous humming. He tried making a faraday cage but it didn’t help so he’d be interested in trying a “good” faraday cage to help in his investigating the cause of the hum. Please let me know if you have one!
Perhaps a doctor would be of more help?
I think Denob may be right if its continual wherever he goes. Depending on where he lives that could be an electrical issues, perhaps resonance from something local (a wind turbine, high tension wires, etc)
Humans can only hear in a particular, and very small frequency range. A faraday cage most likely wont help much.

That is interesting to hear. He and others have tried to figure out what might help him and others he has spoken with who have the same problem. I wondered if his amalgam fillings may contribute to it. He said he built a faraday cage and was able to get radio signals from inside it. Should he be able to?
Difference between realism and conspiracy:
Realism: “If it’s a common issue, it’s known and researched, it’s probably it.”
Conspiracy: If it’s a common issue, it’s known and researched, it’s probably alien radio waves.”
Your friend should see a family Dr and or an audiologist. Or at the very least, Goggle tinnitus.
Environmental issues could actually be in play here...not likely his fillings though, although those fillings should be looked at by a dentist as there is some concern over that filling material.
Perhaps a work environment with loud or even just constant noise could be an issue?
What exactly are you expecting a faraday cage to block?
