I am sure I am not the only one who has tossed out the great anesthetizer.
Here is a site offering a free one month use of their site where you can access College courses and PHD level instruction in many fields.

their regular price is pretty reasonable if you want to continue.
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
I just stumbled on it and seen it was free for the first month and looked interesting, I suspect it is just for general interest....I don't know more about it but I will have more viewing time once the snow flies.
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
quick research and they seem to get good reviews for personal growth and knowledge. No recognized certificates or such.
Interesting idea.
A better use of free time, than the tube. The NFB also has a large library of free films and documentaries , and some that you do have to pay for but it only costs a few dollars to down load, reasonable for the quality you get.
Of course lots can still be found thats interesting, educational, and free on the net, like Richard Freemans lectures on the properties of light https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLQ2atfqk2c (I had no idea light travels 30% slower in water)
Or anything from The Royal Institution. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYeF244yNGuFefuFKqxIAXw

Your helping me regain my trust of youtube again... 😉

I love YouTube there was a fellow that used mud and such to make a Cobb hut and made a 'kiln' to bake shingles for the roof.
There are many ideas of how to make an emergency shelter. One guy uses a backpack full of plastic lock-ties to make his (lol) and there are many ideas on how to make hot tubs without electricity. One is a southern American with a cute accent that gets a huge copper pot (from mining) and sets up a fire under it (reminds me of cartoons where missionaries are being boiled!)
But, all fun aside there are a lot of informative ones to watch and learn from.

Yes there is a lot informative, its just a case of separating the wheat from the chaff.
I like this guys work, and his presentation on ancient Greece Science was mind blowing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iq_E2R_hvTY
( I had no idea they could do cataract surgery back then)
and just for something different as a human interest story....Jeri Ellsworth... she has no education, a high school drop out , self taught welder/fabricator, electrical engineer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhQ7d3BK3KQ
Builds transistors and chips from chemicals under a typical sink...makes Macgyver look lame..

How could I forget...the Cosmos Series with Carl Sagan... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpJtmhd0bTg
I heard Neil Degrasse Tyson has done a remake but I haven't seen it.
They say by the time he died in 96 over 500 million people had viewed the "Cosmos" show, and 4 in Alabama.
The guy authored 30 some books, 30! I cant seem to finish a Christmas card and get in the mail in time..
and of course James burke, "The Conections Series" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw_gIJrvC4U
I prefer his thoughts in book form, something is lost in you tube form but it will do for general interest.
I also prefer the older stuff like this.

And you can sure note the difference in perspective of the subject matter viewed from a foreign (British) perspective..
another of his

Very dangerous thoughts in the above vid, many, view sober, with moderation if your not used to such things. Please, no operating heavy equipment, or governing large nations within 24 hrs of viewing. Written late 1970s mostly, and produced around 1981 I think. Takes a bit of time but draws to a presumptive conclusion, with for shadowing (possible totalitarianism control).Amazingly forward looking, seat belts on and trays in their upright positions please.
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
James Burke again, ..Amazing, just amazing, everything this guy has published should be required reading or watching.
The product of a Oxford education....skip the first 10 minutes..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giB1fEUIuPY
And this is old stuff...like 20 years ago. Where are the current day contemporaries whos thoughts ideas and presentations would be equal to this..its like the western world has been beaten down with a dumb stick since
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
Ok, this is along the lines of C5s Tales from the green valley, as below. ( http://internationalpreppersnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=6575
But for those not really wanting to be a agrarian peasant. Maybe the manager of some industrial peasants instead..easier on the
