All I can say is "I believe" what I believe, is what I will keep to my self, for what I believe, no one would hold to be the truth. JT

Very, very good point, quietman. Reminds me of that movie "The Mist" based off a Stephen King movie. Did anyone see that?

Thinking realistically, it even possible?

I mean it would be like mixing oil with water.

Short term maybe. ❓

I seriously believe after reading each entry in this thread, that one of the first things we need to know when vetting someone for our groups is where they are spiritually. Along with alchohol and drugs, these are the ones that will divide people down the road.
If we end up in a group or community trying to live together, this can't come up in a pinch. You have to pinch long before that.

very good point for the vetting

Pass me the wine or rum, and I could become very spiritual.

I belive I made it clear that any group that I am a part of or help organize, there will be zero tolerance of judging any body on a religious basis..
A persons religion is his or hers private business..There will be absolutely no vetting on a persons religion in this group for south & south central preppers..
If any body has a problem with that then I sujest you create your own group on what ever[" Values"] you wish to have in your said group..
Any religion, color and or creed will be welcome to join and become apart of this group...
I hope I have made this clear this time. If this subject of vetting on the basics of religion or any other profiling comes up again that person will not be welcomed back to said group....

Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...

this is a very difficult subject, and perhaps could be a topic at the next meeting. obviously there is no reason to single anyone out on their religious beliefs, but on the other side of the coin there is no reason to single someone out on their lack of religion. I myself do not follow any religion, but I am tolerant of other. I do not like being preached to however, just as im sure those who are religious dont like being discredited. It would be difficult for a small group of mixed beliefs to function well if they are not tolerant of eachother. I feel there needs to be a "leave it as it lays" mentality, almost like it is something that should not addressed after shtf, but sort of unspoken agreement on it. in larger groups it would be easier to tolerate I think... but even today for example in an office or workforce, religion and politics are rarely discussed so people arnt offended. I think similar lines need to be drawn for any group post shtf that may have mixed beliefs.

See you all after.

Well Buggie I might argue that most people do not discuss these topics in the workforce not because they do not want to offend anyone but more because they really don't give a *?!#.

When people are together (say in the group dynamic) doing daily things that will need to be done, I do not see where anything but the task at hand needs to be discussed, no religious talk is needed while you are doing any project..on the other side of that coin no carrying on & swearing needs to take place either that some find offensive...I am a believer, but get through entire tasks while working with others without bringing it up in conversation...adults can figure out how to work/be together without this issue I am sure...it is a private choice and should remain that way. Especially after SHTF I would hope common sense would prevail, we are adults and this should be a no brainer. (As for me I will do my praying in private)
