People go where the work is. If you're skills are in demand, you can work where you want. Or you fly in and out of oil country for the big money; which is really not good for prepping as you're away from home (and your supplies) every time you fly out of that airport heading north.
But as Duff indicated, there are people preparing for various things all across AB. Some at each end of the spectrum.
You'll have to read through the forums and determine which individuals seem to be thinking of the same things as you and are preparing to the same degree as you. Some of us are just prepping for a house fire and retirement!
Once you've spent some time reading through people's posts, you'll have a better idea if the type of people you're looking for actually reside on these forums.
