I am constantly searching the web for information, evidence and what have you of what is to come or not come. What I havent seen on this forum is a central location to post all these kinds of links for all our viewing/reading pleasure. So... if you would, post away links on all subjects that you think can benefit us wether it be a political stance, how to build something, court documents, etc.

I will start with this awesome video with the ever controversial Glen Beck. In this vid, he is interviewing the very famous Rich dad/ Poor dad author Robert Kiyosaki. This is a man who has been teaching how to make money in life and now he is telling us that money will no longer be what it has been and to get ready.

some very good points she shared there. When food is scarce... people will do damn near anything to get it. For every one honorable honest person there is probably about 10 who are not so much. In my experience thus far. Just look at any forum discussing Amanda Todd as the latest example. You will see that for every 1 person who is kind and gentle with regards to her passing, there is 10 who are utterly disgusting human beings saying the worst possible things. Keep that in mind if SHTF does come to pass... in your neighbourhood, if you are the good and honorable person... then you are a minority.

Well, most of you know that China has been buying USA's debt and owns I think it was... around 30% of it? Anyways... it's been long warned that if there is to be another war (if) that it would be with China and it would be over energy issues. So, with that in mind I'm always keeping an eye on the headlines when it comes to connections with China. Today in Yahoo news was this editorial below. I trust David Suzuki. I trust him a lot and I have never trusted Harper. This story has my eyes popping a little bit with the prospects of what this could mean down the road.

Harper government, critics at odds over controversial new treaty with China

By Wednesday, the Harper government is expected to ratify the Canada-China Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Act (FIPA).

It's a deal that's been in the works for 18 years but has just recently seemed to raise the ire of opposition MPs, environmentalists and the anti-Harperites.

Environmental advocate David Suzuki wrote this on his Facebook page on Sunday morning.

"The China-Canada trade deal might be the most critical issue of our time. We only have a few days to stop a 31 year term deal that gives China power over Canada's environmental decisions. Now is the time for Canadians to stand together for nature and democracy."

[ Related: Canadians say China is the biggest threat to national security ]

Green Party leader Elizabeth May was on CTV's Question period, over the weekend, and said the deal will threaten Canada's security, sovereignty, and democracy.

And Lead Now, an independent advocacy organization, now has over 60,000 names on anon-line petition asking the government to stop "the most disturbing trade deal in a generation."

Critics of the agreement say that the deal hasn't been debated in the House, that it's not reciprocal and that it would allow Chinese companies to buyout our natural resource sectors.

The most controversial issue, however, seems to be a provision in the treaty that would allow Chinese companies to sue Canadian governments - in front of a third-party arbitrator - if the government does anything that threatens the company's profits.

The government, not surprisingly, sees things a little differently.

"What we have done effectively is we have established a clear set of rules under which investment will take place and a clear set of rules under which investment will take place and a clear set of rules under which dispute resolution takes place,"International trade minister Ed Fast said while on CTV.

"It gives Canadian investors much greater confidence when they're investing in China. Because as we know China has a somewhat opaque legal and regulatory system," he said adding that the deal does provide full reciprocity.

"We want to make sure there's a set of rules that they can depend on going forward and that will provide an incentive for them to actually invest in China and thereby drive economic growth and prosperity here at home."

Fast also argues that the dispute resolution mechanism in the China deal is not dissimilar to the process in 24 other investment and promotion deals already entered into by Canadian governments.

But May, and others, say that this isn't a typical deal with a typical country.

"If you look at Sinopec, the Chinese state-owned oil company, it's the fifth-largest corporation on earth," she said.

"You don't have a private sector company seeking damages against Canada for something that they say was arbitrary under one of these investor state provisions. You've got the government of China telling the government of Canada that either federally or provincially or municipally, one level of government in Canada has done something which interferes with their expectation of profits."

[ More Political Points: Liberal MP wants to encourage domestic travel by plane, train and bus with tax credits ]

On Monday afternoon, May asked for and was denied an emergency debate about FIPA in the House.

She later wrote this Tweet:

Speaker denied my request for emergency debate. Why do I get my hopes up? No chance for a debate now. Only hope is for a#CPC revolt. #FIPA

— Elizabeth May MP (@ElizabethMay) October 29, 2012

May, Suzuki and their cohorts better 'hope' for a miracle.

I REALLY have a lot of trouble trusting a genetic scientist who suddenly becomes an environmentalist who lived (or currently lives in) an ocean front home that has 2 1/2 stories of glass facing west paid for by income derived from tax dollars (CBC anyone?). I'm also concerned about a scientist preaching about 'carbon footprints' touring Canada for speaking engagements in a 'rock star' style bus that refuses to use bio diesel because it would void the warranty of the bus. Hey, doesn't this sound a lot like Al Gore (the politician that became a global warming expert after one environmental course at a community college, but also owns a large position in a company that buys and sells carbon credits) preaching about rising ocean levels and catastrophic weather while building an ocean front home worth millions? The same Al Gore has a carbon foot print in excess of 14 typical American families but insists that the average American should reduce their carbon footprint.

Walk the walk don't just talk the talk already.

I really don't buy the whole CO2 global warming scam nor do this little group of 32,000 actual scientists (Bachelor of Science degree or better) who's views can be found at http://friendsofscience.org/ . But hey, I'm just a global warming skeptic that doesn't buy the hype even though it's proven that there has been no net global warming in the last 16 years.

Now why would any of the mods do that?
If you have an opinion and are able to present it in a civilized manner, then by all means go ahead.

If every post had to be nice we would all be in trouble. The forum is a place for views some popular some not. I for one would like to hear your views on this matter, they sound as if they could be very interesting.

I watched this documentary tonight regarding a Pole shift and the science behind the concept. Very interesting stuff.

Pole shift and magnetic pole reversal are two entirely different phenomena. One relates to the axis on which Earth turns and the other to the movement of the north and south magnetic poles. It is easy to get them mixed up. So for those who would like it I can offer a little clarification. Rather than one long post will do post on each of them separately.

Magnetic pole reversal, known as geomagnetic reversal, is when the north magnetic pole switches places with the south magnetic pole. As we usually look at the globe or a map of the earth magnetic north is at the top and magnetic south is at the bottom. After a geomagnetic reversal the south magnetic pole would be at the top. Geomagnetic reversals have occurred many, many times in Earth's long history. There is no definable cycle as many reversals may occur in any block of time. At different times there have been over 20 reversals in a five million year period, at other times none over the same time period. When the pole reverses the magnetic field doesn't just drop to zero and start up in the other direction. Although it weakens it also gets jumbled up during the reversal. So at some point there may be two or three north poles and south poles at different locations on the Earth's surface. We do not know why these reversals take place but there are a few theories, none definitive. We do know that time the strength of the field is decreasing at an ever increasing rate and the location of the north magnetic pole is moving rapidly. It has moved about 1100Km in the last 150 years but the speed of the movement has increased to about 55Km per year. In the last 10years it has moved as much as it did in the last 100 years. Does this herald another geomagnetic reversal? We don't know but it would seem to be on the cards.
