Hi there; seems a few feathers have been ruffled...First off the two friends mentioned are C.P.S. Officers and have been notified of such an idea, and were quite keen on expressing their disapproval of such an act in the city of calgary..As far as the name calling, well kids if you advocate such use and recklessness of firearms such as has been mentioned. well my previous comments stand...And as far as being a SHEEPLE...Anybody that knows me or has met me at our meetings had one hell of a good laugh about that one....And as far as the mods showing favoritism maybe a little, for my name calling and maybe I should have been booted, they have that right when ever they figure I have step over the line..So I shall go check my email apparently the boss sent me one, I have been a tad busy vacing out my dads basement to stay tuned and up to date , So go ahead and slam me all you want I have way more important things to do..[ Like helping folks that have lost every thing, you guys should come down and try helping you might realize there are more important things in the world then serving your self centered views on Firearms and where you should or shouldn't be allowed to carry them......So with that, me and the rest of the Sheeple have to go back to rebuilding or town....
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
Nobody was trying to slam you, they just did not appreciate your conduct. When people voiced their options, you choose not to respond respectfully and voice your option in an effective manner. You choose to call names and make threats. Just because someone's opinion does not match yours, that does not make them self centered, in fact, your claim that it does makes you appear self centered. On another note, I applaud your work in the community and all the best with that. I myself have done hurricane relief in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, conducted repair work in orphanages in Africa, Spain, Ireland and Portugal, and have participated in numerous Search and Rescues and disaster assistance initiatives across the globe. So, while I appreciate your interest in trying to educated me in the important things in life, I am quite well versed. It is good to see that you are attempting to de-escalate the situation, it takes a big man to admit their error.
Cheers,
GM1

😮 😮 😮 😮 😯 😯 😯 😯
I'm a little late to this thread but agree that brandishing firearms in a major city just because you can is not going to help your cause in any way, it will actually be publicized in the news and be detrimental to all firearms owners and hunters. The angle that the media will take will definitely cause people to question our current liberties. We have just overcome a major milestone with the scrapping of the LGR, let's not impede any further progress with a fool's crusade.... just my opinion

...One resident stated;she "followed the footsteps in the mud up the stairs to the closet where the guns were stored;the cases were opened and left only taking the guns"....
Naka, do you know where there is a link to confirm that?? If so it puts a totally different light on things since in another forum "RE: Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act" started by oldschool about the abilities of police during an emergency. It would answer very well to what thecrownsown was saying if there really is evidence/testimony about RCMP gun confiscation being done this way.
Just saying...
Frugal
If police were centering out people with firearms that were legally stored I would definitely change my stance on the whole issue. I think every reasonable person would be upset if police who are granted special powers in an emergency in the name of helping Canadians suddenly abused there powers. I saw a video with footprints, and some others that followed the police going door to door. It looked to me like they were going into rooms, checking and leaving. A closet would not be a bad place to check for people/pets. Same with attic access, basements, crawlspaces, etc. They appeared to be respectful, going in and doing there job. Of course anyone under a camer is always on there best behaviour! 🙂 Not a dig at the RCMP, just saying that cameras have a way of making us all on our best behaviour!
I have not seen the link showing the evidence that police had taken guns securley locked with the footprints. Can you post the link please. If this is accurate, then the RCMP have some serious explaining to do, and the temporary powers granted to them under emergency measures have been abused. I would definitely like to see this information!

.
Everything I've seen hasn't shown any removal of legal firearms. Nor damage or mistreatment of people's property by the RCMP.
I've heard a lot of talk (and rightfully so, who wants strangers romping through there home...especially after all the stress and fatigue of going through a disaster) and hypothesis and rhetoric about what "might" have happened, but nothing concrete. If there is proof, and someone has it please post it. If there is something in the media that has proof Police were taking legally stored guns or abusing there temporary powers please post it. Maybe this information will come out in the upcoming weeks/months if it exists. If it doesn't, do we still hammer on the RCMP for this?
