Hello BC Neighbours,

I have been in the process of organizing the Whatcom County Preppers group (for Whatcom County, WA); just on the other side of the Peace Arch. Our group have not yet met in person, and are still gathering members, but 💡 I wanted to extend an invitation to cross-communicate with our friends to the north, that we might even perhaps one day meet together and discuss our prepping perspectives and do some networking amongst ourselves.

Our environmental concerns (with regard to contingencies for potential natural disaster/emergencies) would be quite similar, due to our shared geography.

I am in Blaine (just south of the Peace Arch border entrance), and though I have not yet ventured into Canada (but will soon!), I recently wondered if perhaps preppers in the White Rock, Surrey, Abbotsford, Langley, Aberdeen, Aldergrove, Elgin or other surrounding areas (near the border) had an interest in getting to know other preppers on this side of the border, and if so—letting them know that they are welcome. If you have any questions, feel free to message me either here, of at our Yahoo Group:

Good luck with your prepping, and I look forward to hearing from anyone in beautiful BC!

Sincerely,
Richard Martin

Hello Richard, just surfing the forum and came across your post, just giving you a "nod and a wave" as I'm in the Interior of BC... bit of a hike away from you but want to make sure you're invitation is recognized.
Take care

Hello Richard,

I don't remember seeing your post. Seems strange their was no response. Really sorry about that. I am on Vancouver Island so couldn't not meet with you guys. I hope you find some like minded folks on this side of the border. Keep in touch with us and please feel free to give us any feedback.

Thanks for the invite, Richard. 🙂
In future, if a meet does happen, post up the time as far in advance as possible. For me personally, this greatly increases the chances that I would be able to attend.

To jefft78, that couple was brave, and for the most part, I believe we as a collective community owe them some thanks for that bravery. Sharing their story to the media has enabled some people to adjust their mindset about preppers and not write us off as end-of-the-world survivalist whack jobs.
