Hey Everyone!
It's been a while since I was on line so hello to SilverShark and ThreeCords! I'm in Sicamous and sort of in the middle of the two of you so maybe meeting around here might be good for the two of you and certainly for me. Let me know by pm-ing me. Welcome!

Hello my fellow Interior Preppers

I myself would like to be part of a meet up. A Interior network is log overdo and we are not doing ourselves any favours bying staying apart. Lets share our knowledge and get a solid network on the go.

Hello All,
lm Mac from near McBride BC. Found this thread while doing some research into being more prepared for something i hope will never happen, but increasingly believe will.

l hate to be Captain Downer on my first post but the weapons you need are not just for hunting, if it all goes south in short order people will if necessary kill you for what you have. You would all be well advised to have a SKS-12gauge-303 something that will stop humans. lts a terrible thought process i understand, but i believe the greatest immediate risk to your survival in complete social breakdown scenarios is your fellow man.

Good call Mac. People stay civilized until they are cold, wet, and hungry.

Mac,

You are in located in a good part of the country. Unlikely to have a lot of walking traffic in a big event. Nice.

Solid suggestions. Hard to go wrong with a decent 12 ga. And no one can argue with the success of the .303, jack rabbit to cape buffalo, it has taken 'em all.

Welcome to the Forum.

Cheers,

Mountainman.

I get busy for a few days and look at all the traffic and trade!! Good Show!
Well, I'm still up for a meet and greet and can do local and a drive to Sicamous for coffee may be a good excuse too!! I'm available most eve's local around 19:00hrs.

And with kindest regards to the holidays, whether you recognize this next days as Christmas the religious Christian holiday, as a Canadian traditional holiday or honour those around us for our Canadian heritage that still allows us this right should we choose it... I choose to wish you all a Merry Christmas and may you share time with family and friends.

UKvet,

12 ga., sks, and a 303 are great choices. I currently have a 12ga over-under (I know, I need to change to a pump or semi-auto), 2 sks', and a .270 but I've been putting some though into a crossbow for a silenter option. you know, less attention is better attention.

Your good to go mate, you got it all covered, short-medium-long/ish range and a scatter gun for game. Maybe not the most 'perfect' combo (which is usually down to preference) but i would feel golden with that selection. lf you haaaaad to change something i would be more inclined to trade out 1 sks for a .22 rifle and cheap scope rather than getting another shotty. Just my .02

Oh yeah, I've also got a ruger 10/22 stainless synthetic with a bushnell 3-9/42. and a couple thousand rounds. As preppers go, that should be the first thing bought I figure. Boxing day tomorrow, I'll be taking a look in wholesale, thats for sure.

I've seen a few from Kelowna here, looking to get a group/community started in this area. Purpose is to share ideas and knowledge as well as have a ready-made support system in place when the SHTF.
Anyone from Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, etc.
Drop me a line if interested:
