You are so bang on Taz!
Thank you for saying that.
I agree 110%

Now if more would realize/understand that....*sigh*

Years ago my son acted up big time (mouthy pre teens yrs) and I came down on him like a ton of bricks.
It was already the time of 'try to control your kid and you were in trouble.' 🙁

He said he would report me.
I said to him, "Go ahead, others might be interested in what you pulled off. Want me to dial the phone for you?" as I held it out to him.
The look on his face was priceless but I held my ground.
Odd thing was, never had any real trouble with him after that day. 🙂

Today he's grown up and has much the same thoughts as you Taz.

A sense of humor is absolutely essential to survival.

I fail to understand how the way we raise our children has any bearing on gun control. The fact of the matter is, violent crime has actually gone down in the last 20 years. https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/table-1 This is the FBI stats on crime. What is happening right now is the NWO pushing to take the guns away from the people so that they can enslave them. The media is under the control of the robber banking families and they are closing in for the end game. They are controling what we see and hear so that they can trick us into giving away our rights. Take your heads out of the sand and open your eyes. The sleepers must awaken before its too late. with knowledge is power. Its not too late.

Whenever the issue of gun control resurfaces (as it often does) it makes me want to take one of the smug, sanctimonous, liberal types and shove their head into an open cesspool until they can refill on all the crap they're spewing.
When I was a kid in school and I started acting up, I'd get the strap (many of us remember that). When I got home, I'd get my ass tanned. When I started acting up at home, I got my ass tanned. Eventually, (I'm kinda slow) I came to realize that some kinds of behaviour aren't tolerated. Nowadays, if you look at your kids the wrong way, you can be charged for child abuse, or at the very least, you'll have child welfare at your door every week to check up on you. At the schools, if a teacher disciplines a child, they can be charged and dismissed (fired). The kids know this. They know that we have to tolerate their behaviour or we get in trouble. We're not allowed to teach them boundries, even though we're expected to. Add to this all of the violence in the media. Daily, kids are bombarded with television shows that send the message that it's easy to kill and even easier to get away with it. Even though most realize that it's just fiction, you're always going to get those who will come to believe in it. Put that together with the fact that it's illegal to teach them that actions can have consequences and you've got trouble.
Back when kids could be disciplined for bad behaviour and God was still allowed in school, people didn't often hear of mass schoolyard slayings and such. Maybe, if people were to smarten up and quit tolerating bad behaviour and quit tolerating all these whining, pee-pee assed, liberal, whusses telling us how to raise our kids, we wouldn't have so many of these schoolyard murders.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not advocating that we should start beating our kids but I do believe that we should be allowed to discipline them when they want to start getting out of hand. I have only resorted to physical discipline twice. Neither time could be considered abuse by any reasonable person (I said any reasonable person). The first time was my common law wifes, 9 year old son (a real little snot) his entire outlook changed when he learned that he would get punished for his poor behaviour and he never had to be punished like that again. The second time was for some back talk, that also never happened again. He's grown up now and he's a good man. He also told me that he never forgot and that it was one of his defining life lessons (both punishments were minor but memorable).
Guns don't grow up to murder people.
The guns didn't commit those mass school slayings.
Those slayings were committed by kids who were taught that it's easy and the consequences are minor.
Those slayings were committed by kids who were bullied by bullies who were never hauled out behind the wood shed.
Don't blame the guns.
Blame the system that created those kids.
It's not the guns that need more controls, it's the system that needs to be controlled.

I know I'm ranting but I believe that it's the system that'll cause a collapse, not guns. But hey, what do I know.

Well said!! l dont find it ranting, its only going to get worse before it gets better, no discipline, no accountability and people wonder why it goes horribly wrong.

Source please. As far as I can find, this is legislation in the works that has a LONG WAY TO GO before it becomes law. There is a difference between fact and "information".

sorry I stand corrected. I was told my my gun supplier that it had passed and should have checked the information before posting. the gun ban, in front of the lame-duck session of legislation was just pulled at 2:30 this afternoon. Unfortunatly it is not over yet and there is still another week to go and could still happen. Dont fool yourselves. It is coming

This won't pass. They're just testing the waters to see what you will tolerate.

gun control is inevitable, the degree is what will be debated. Automatic weapons are on their way out, as they should be...IMHO.

Flame on.

What type of gun owned shouldn't matter. A gun is a gun. One type will seriously injure or kill just as easily as the other.

What this is all about is nothing short of people control, not crime control. Criminals and crazies have never followed the rules.

I agree RunWS but it seems that people that want gun legislation have no idea which guns it is that they actually want out. Is it the gun or the mag size. Semi or auto or both, along with calibers? All I hear is automatic. I do not own a gun but I would fight for the right for people to own one. If it can be sold on the black market, it should be available to the rest of us.
