I havnt posted for some time on here guys so thought i would wish you a happy new year. I hope by 2016 most of you have your stuff together and some kind of an idea of what your going to do incase of a big earthquake or some other manmade disaster. I know from time to time there are new people on this board asking questions about various aspects of this lifestyle. We need to help them out with good advice and ideas best that we can.

For me 2015 was a hard year, worked my but off from january to december and had a close family member pass away. im hoping 2016 is going to be a better year but honestly i have my reservations about that. Too many bad things going on in the world. At least there have been no crazy attacks by a certain group in canada. knock on wood. not yet anyway.

Anyway have a good one.

Heya jefft78,

All the best in the new year. Sorry 2015 was a struggle. The minor quake we had just before the new year seems to have motivated a few people who never gave prepping any thought, in my area. The more people who are prepared will mean fewer, to watch out for..

Happy New Year, all!

Jefft78, always ready for a coffee. Spend half my time in Richmond, half on the island. (luckily was at home for the quake. Felt nothing at all.)

PM if you like!

I am starting over this year in a new location with abundant fresh air, water and forest but traded off a warmer gardening zone and better soils on a well set up farm but there are more projects and possibilities here than I can shake a stick at and a few challenges too . It isn't so much that it is a new year as that each day challenges us to put our best effort forward in thought and action , in multiple facets to strive for an abundant and more sustainable life.
