They won't get all 450 million of it over night but rather over time but still, I find it very disturbing and it does have the "something's up" writing all over it.
Any ideas ?

Ask me at the end of October. Maybe even as soon as the end of September.

Yes I have to agree.

With the way the economy is and what is going in the southern border states it would not surprise me if something is in the works. As far as basic law enforcement each state operates somewhat independent of the feds. Meaning for the most part they take care of their own and they operate off of their own budgets with a little help from the fed. It would be interesting to know if the weapons budget is under the umbrella of each state or is that partly or mostly subsidized by the fed. If it winds up in the hands of the national guard, that would make one wonder. I could also wonder if the fed is planning on giving to some 3rd world country.
I am hoping it is going for border security cuz they sure have a mess down south and that would be under the federal umbrella. The war on drugs is lost perhaps they plan on helping Mexico's new President clean things up. All of this is not really my opinion but just speculation.

An interesting post Zzulu I had not considered that. I am sure that the US is watching uneasily as the population of Mexico balloons, from a mere 30 million in 1955 to 112 million by 2010.

Hi all,
I have been asked by more then one person how my trip went, I have good news…….
The trip was a complete success!! I went with a little bit of hesitation, but once I had spent 5mins with chilcotin I realized that I had made the right choice by doing this trip. Chicotin lives in the Williams lake area with his family and they are some of the nicest people I’ve met in a while.
I got a very good view of the lay of the land, and where he lives he has a tactical advantage of having the high ground, no doubt about it. You have to cross two bridges and travel about 60kms to get to where he lives. The road is windy in places and steep in others. The locals in the area where chilcotin lives know the area very well. There are a lot of lakes in his area, I had the pleasure of fishing in one of them while on this trip. I was getting bites with every cast!!! Although Chilcotin did out fish me, six fish to one. But in my defense, if the little fish I was catching were big enough to keep I think I would have out fished him!!!
Chilcotin has a nice little piece of land with a garden, nothing big and fancy. his property does have a mountain behind it so he doesn’t have to go far to hunt.
I took the greyhound bus and had plenty of time to think( And enjoy the view of the fraser canyon). I admit that I was nervous . What if he didn’t show up?? What if he was some crazy person with a foil hat that had outrageous ideas??? Etc etc.
Im going to guess that many people on this site that read my post were curious to know how the trip went. Maybe im the first to do this kind of thing, maybe im crazy, but im glad I went, I was there for 5 days and chilcotin and I had something to talk about everyday. And we discovered that for two complete strangers we are compatible!!! We share the same views on many different topics and have some of the same intrests. I learned a lot on this trip and for me it was an important step in my networking, I stepped outside my comfort zone and took a risk.
If you are thinking about doing something similar I would strongly advice doing it!!! By all means do your homework first and get to know someone first through emails and a few phone conversations. This might sound corny but if think you have a connection with someone( wow that sounds cheesy!!!) then I would say go for it. It may be a step in the right direction. We can type messages on a computer all day long but if we don’t get out and meet people then when the time comes we may not have anyone to turn to when the going gets tough.
I have been in contact with multiply people from this site ( some close by, some in other provinces) and after the success I had with meeting chilcotin it has shown me that being outside my comfort zone isn’t so bad and that the people that use this site are not “just talking” I plan to reach out to more people, as a matter of fact I have now meet up with a guy from Langley twice and we have shared good information. I have another meet up planned for next week with a guy that has recently joined the site.
A big thank you to Chilcotin for being such a great host( cyber clapping) and to his wife for letting me help with the mooses nose!!!! Which by the way doesn’t taste that bad….

Hey, I'm so glad you had a good trip. Wish I could of met you guys in 100 Mile. Maybe next time.

Yes sometimes we have to take the bull by the horns and step out of our comfort zone to expand experiences. Almost all the people I have met up here are friendly awsome people....but don't mess with them.

Had to get in out of the heat. At 9:45 AM it is already 30 degrees here, and I don't relate well to it at all! A week ago I met gmurphy, and he stayed with us a few days. A totally upstanding guy. If any of you live near him, have no fear of making contact. I guess we both took some risk, but even before I met him I didn't have any real misgivings. We had spoken several times by phone, had exchanged messages, in short had done our due diligence. There is no such thing as perfect safety; every prepper knows that, and there is no safety at all in the ostrich approach. Network!! Network!!!

tip #42 from Field and Stream Outdoorsman manual,
Anchoring a tent in the sand- When tent pegs wont work use garbage bags, sand bags etc. fill the bags, tie a knot in each of the bags openings and tie the tent stake loops and rain fly guylines to the bags. high winds, no problem, burying the bags will give you a sloid stake point. to futher hold the tent in place, put a few small bags along the inside of the tent.

I haven't tried this trick as it is written in this book, but have done something similar, i put one sand bag on each corner of the tent on the outside, the tent didnt blow away and i had a decent night sleep!

Well i really don't know where to start. This is really a no brainer. It is as simple as this.
People don't want to think about the following, and don't want to hear it.

Governments care little about you.
Provincial food store last on 3 days.
73% of food is imported into B.C.
Solar Flares are real.
Disasters happen everyday, are getting worse.
Your Neighbours will turn on you. They will want your food.
Your Friends will rat you out for "Hording" as they call it. They will get your food
Your Government has made no plans for you.
All my food comes from stores.
The Disaster Container in the School sports Field , has some water, teddy bears, and crayons, for all 600 kids right?. What a joke.
The Emergency response department , has sent you a map to get to a shelter?, oh yah you don't count.
If i need more gas, i can just get more.

Look at the home designs in Lowermainland, they built porches so people can meet and talk, and now people park in the back, to avoid the porches.
Take a walk at night, look how many people are having backyard get togethers, less than 1 in 25 homes.
Sad to say YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN, GET USED TO IT.
The Most Powerfull Nation took 6 days to get water to it's people, because the people did'nt matter.

There is no help coming, so be prepared, and hope i am wrong. 😆

You are so right Cpobob62. That's the scary part. You can count on your government if there is a local forest fire or local flood but beyond that forget it. They are more likely to be part of the problem that part of the solution. However you are not on your own if you live in proximity to close family and or close friends that are "like minded". Those are the only people you can count on.

They are too busy regulating everything. Taking care of the the people who don't want to work. Save this, save that, pandering to special interest groups. Making to more difficult for people just to make a living. But hey, their making a living so you know who they serve. Don't need them to take care of me and don't want them too. They can't do diddly squat right anyway. Sorry I am so bitter but if the shoe fits.
Government is already to big if we fired half of them no one would notice a change.
