A tip to keep in mind for those living in the northern half of the province.
Propane doesn't gasify when the temperature reaches -40 C. I had some unexpected problems last winter when the temperature reached -35 one night and I ended up needing to switch propane tanks. Nothing came out of the full tank I had just switched in and finally had to bring the portable tank indoors for about half an hour before it would work.
Blackknight - When I moved up to my cabin over a decade ago I threw my pager into the lake and swore never to be tied to a device like that again. I also didn't have satellite TV just antenna reception. Now 10+ years later here I am with a cell phone, satellite and internet!!! granted it's slow speed dial up.... I liked it better when I first moved up.
What happened to change how I was is hubby got sick (Alzhiemers) and I needed the cell the get help where ever I might be and be reachable if something happened to him. The TV changed because he was house bound and that was one the few things he could still enjoy. Internet so I could look things up about his disease and because I pretty much became house bound with him.
Soooo tshtf scenario how would you manage if your LO got sick or old and frail? Do you have any kind of a plan in place? For myself if I became really sick I have a stash of pills that would do the job though I hope I never get put in that position.
