For anyone interested in learning about and foraging for wild edibles in Canada, this is an excellent website. It has many photographs and the lists are of "safe" plants - those that are easy to identify and have no deadly poisonous look-alikes. All plant parts described as being edible raw are also edible (and often more palatable) when cooked. The site covers all provinces and territories and lists edible berries, plants, mushrooms, seaweeds and invertebrates.

Same site, a separate section covering the Pacific northwest - This guide covers wild edible plants of British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, the Rocky Mountains and Western Canada.

Thanks dioptase! I just forwarded these links to my son who is camping in the BC gulf area this July and August. He was thrilled to get them....
You're welcome! I hope your son can put the information to good use.
And thank you WildernessReturn for the links you posted, those are great resources.
