Went for a small but productive meet with a few fellow Preppers. I have kept reading on this forum. Shopping trip at Cabelas 🙂

Garden coming along nicely and slowly started harvesting some good stuff. Had fun doing some "target shooting" with a slingshot; it was rather hurling at first, but I rapidly improved and can now hit the kitty on the empty box of litter (no plan to hunt cats I swear!) set in the backyard.

I am going to read this entire thread, so many good ideas, things like labeling the gas containers, only some of mine are labeled. This week I was gifted with 3 young muscovey ducks and some large golf course netting. I am not sure how I will use the netting but I am certain it will be a great asset to cover fruit bushes , or ?

Built a wood shelter to replace the tempo we had been using...it should hold about 8 cord (runs) of wood, which is about what we use each year.
Planted fall crop of peas today and looked up Farmgals mock pinneapple recipe to take care of a few of those summer squash we just couldn't keep up with.
More research on dehydrating as we get closer to ordering a 9 tray Excalibur.
Packed up 2 x 3 day doggy pails with food, bowls, chains and treats.
Got a new CB for the car from the flea market.
might...just might be picking up a 10 meter ham rig off Craig's List.
Got a 5 gallon bucket of sugar and yeast fermenting for a fuel experiment.

Mary Bell's Complete dehydrator Cookbook something that I would recommend as well

I live in the city and don't really have much place to store my canning (at least not to keep it cool without air conditioning). I have a little room behind the downstairs clothes closet under the stairs - like a secret room (which is always cool in the summer) even on those really muggy days. So I built some shelves and put in a light source and closed it off (right now just with heavy curtains - but I plan to put doors on it). It might not sound like much to the more experienced, but I am pretty proud of myself.

Plus I canned 6 L of Chicken soup, and 5 L of spaghetti meat sauce.

That's kind of very old fashioned isn't it? Too bad they don't also offer online exams at the end of the course.

Yup, very oldschool, but I assume Industry Canada still needs to see a paper exam. Also, an online exam would be easy to cheat on.
