Then Go For It!
Good luck on the move helicopilot. I am a former Albertan myself, from Edmonton.
My dehydrator arrived today so I am trying shrimp jerky, followed by zucchini, tomatoes and eggs. I also stocked up on canned goods and bottled water. Never thought I would see the day of buying bottled water..I think it's against my religion 🙂 but it's for storing only & for the dog's bugout bag....

HopeImReady, I just bought a #10can of pineapple rings.....100oz can. Will put the rings into the dehydrator in the morning. When they are done, they will be my at the computer snacks for quite a while. If you have not tried dried pineapple, you will be in for a real treat. BTW I found really good bottled water at the Dollar Tree. Gallon jugs for $1.25, I guess I should say 4L, 1and a half L were 2 for a dollar. This is water that I drink all the time as our spring water is really hard, and upsets my tummy.
Pinapple..I will have to try that 🙂

Preps have been slow lately as I've been out of town for work several times in the past month or two. The furnace room has been framed in, with a closet just for preps. This allowed for us to do some organizing of the foodstuffs. Some more kerosene from UFA and picked up a few boxes of nails for the nailgun. Quiet few months with this blasted cold weather we're all experiencing.
Picked up an SKS to complete my list of Short Range, Long Range and Shotgun. Small game, big game and protection.... 🙂

We did not make this purchase recently, actually it was a year ago at Christmas when our old propane stove pooped out. Parts were really expensive. In my eyes it was far more economical to get a new stove. The unit I picked out is a Unique brand There is not even a power cord on it, as it is classed as totally off grid. The igniters for the top burners run on two 9v batteries, the oven and broiler run on another two 9v batteries. After 15 months, have not had to change the batteries. I can highly recommend this brand. Best Christmas gift ever......the one that keeps on giving.
Got some good stuff ordered from Bass Pro, they have a deal for free shipping and an option to spread payments out. I picked up a 4qt dutch oven, a Life straw, medium sized first aid kit, a hatchet, 100' of paracord, and a magnesium firestarter.
I've got some plans going to do a wilderness camping trip in Algonquin so I can test out some survival skills too.
Beginning to store up a crapload of wild meat. Mostly Small game. Gonna Bottle most of it up. Also got me another load of MRE's.
Cycled water stores this weekend.

Dried 4kg carrots, 2kg onions, 3 heads celery, and today, really stunk the house up by doing 2kg garlic. Got everything 50% off, so splurged and bought a Starfrit non electric chopper. Only took an hour to do all the garlic.
