Yes, but around me gas stations offering ethanol free gas are few and far between.
I would have to travel to Montreal for it...about an hour away.

Added 50 - 1L Bottles of Water to storage.

Installed a water filter on my municipal water source to the house. ( http://www.greenwaywt.com ) Just some extra reassurance....municipal water is totally safe...but its nice to have that extra back up.

We purchased a newspaper log roller to use up the newspapers and flyers that we get. We live in an area where firewood could become a problem, so thought that this might be something to do now that the weather is cooler and also a way of recycling paper ourselves.

Prepped the raised bed garden for next spring by trying the "lasagna" method, which made a good place to hide the fallen leaves. Also emptied the potato tower and all 4.5 potatoes in it. 🙁 I obviously did something wrong and will try harder next year. As far as gardening goes, I will also start much earlier next year, like starting my tomato and pepper seeds during Christmas break. (I'm still learning about growing stuff in the South!).

Came across really good sales for kids clothes so picked up a bunch of stuff for next year as little one grows up.

Finally worked on replacing some foodstuff from the storage pantry that more insidiously becam depleted. Also refreshing spice stash as some of it is getting stale and clumpy with all the extra moisture.

Speaking of moisture,mi replaced the "damp rid" in the storage pantries. Amazing how much moisture those container can suck up, in addition to the electric dehumidifier that keeps working in that area.

Started some plants from seeds: tomatoes, peppers and alpine strawberries. I'm planning to build a shelving system that would lean against the fence and use plastic planters for the strawberries. Hopefully should keep the bugs away and give me yummy fruits!

I bought my first firearm - a '77 Anschutz bolt-action 22, totally refurbished by an uber-gun guy. These are old German target rifles. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Rotated some of my gas cans and bought another 5 Gal cans. Gas here is USD$ 1.57/Gal (which after factoring in the exchange, is like Cdn $10/L but anyway...) so I'm taking advantage of this to add a few gallons to my storage.

I've also bought some seed potatoes to start the potato tower as soon as the last frost is behind us - soon I hope. My strawberry seeds are not germinating very well, so I started looking for a place to buy plants, I want some Alpine ones as they apparently tolerate the heat a bit more. Feel free to suggest other types. Tomato and pepper seedlings didn't survive my absence as Mrs HP forgot to water them for a week. Starting from scratch with them as well.

Cleaned up my stored medicines, rotating those already expired meds to be used ASAP as need be. Also acquired an emergency dental kit; just in case...

After reading this article http://www.thestar.com/life/health_wellness/2016/01/13/manitoba-sets-new-rule-limiting-codeine.html last month, I checked my medicine cabinet. I only had a couple pills left of a Life brand otc codeine. The bottle I had said expired march 2003 so I likely bought it in late 1990's. even though it was old they still worked fine, but by this article and others I have read it looks like there is a push on to ban the stuff across Canada so I have started to stock up on it while I can.

Hmmm...sounds like a trip to Costco is in order.

Well, I know this isn't gonna make me "Mr Popular" among my fellow Canadians, but...

Yesterday, I planted the garden! 🙂 With the last frost now behind us, I put in a few rows of radishes, carrots, some beans and brocoli. I started a tad too late last year I reckon and the crop in the raised beds suffered from the heat. It will be a little longer for the peppers and tomatoes as I'm starting from seeds.

Potato tower is also started.

Just planted 3 new blueberry plants from a local grower. Started some seeds indoors. Watched 11th hour 😮

The girls are giving us two eggs a day which is plenty for us. I don't eat eggs myself but they come in handy for baking. DH made mayonnaise last night 😀

Picked up a whole whack of winter wear on sale for ridiculous prices...
long johns, neck warmers, gloves, hats, you name it. All liquidated for dirt for end of season.
