Not a lot this week. Bottled a batch of home made wine and put down another batch. Made up some laundry detergent from scratch, enough for another 4 or 5 months (have not bought laundry soap in over 3 years). Added a bit of dried food to the stocks as well but nothing major.

Can you post your recipie for your detergent?
Sure thing. It is super simple, easy and inexpensive.
Combine 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of borax and one bar of regular bar soap (the plain and simple kind). You shred the soap first with eith a fine cheese grater by hand or you can slide it up into small bits and put it in a blender along with the other two ingredients. Mix it well and that is it.
I store it in a 1 litre mason jar. One tablespoon per load of laundry. Been using it for years now and it works great and costs so little it is all but free.
This week we are boosting up the medical/health aspect.
I have ordered 2 Israeli bandages, 3 quality tourniquets for FA kits, 2 lower quality tourniquets for EDC, Suture kit & practice kit, 2 disposable CPR masks for EDC.
Also looking into reliable information regarding diagnosis of bacterial infections and appropriate antibiotics for various scenarios.
Will be ordering more fish antibiotics once the research is done.
Edit: almost forgot about the 200 pack of self sealing instrument sterilization bags.
I was finally issued my Ham License (Basic with Honors). VA1EWB
None you improvise, one (or more) is luxury.
Way to go!!!
congrats on the 80%+ for honors
remember to go to the website and hide your contact details
Thanks Denob. I was unaware that this was available online. I'll have to be sure to register and restrict the information.

changed out all the water bottles in my numerous kits, ATV..., same for batteries that were two years old.
do the water refresh thing at least twice but more often three times a year. Rince and reuse the throw away water bottles.
bought some more tire inflation foam cans for ATV and vehicles
added more winch rope to ATV
Got some bananas off the discount shelf at 1$ for 7 or 8... sliced them up for banana chips an made some jarred banana rum jam in my water bath scanner...
Also transplanted my cherry tomato plants, cucumber plants and Roma tomato plants in bigger individual pots... well, seedlings rather...they're only 2 inches tall.
Cleaned out my indoor rabbit pen... 15 gallons of poop/straw/hay that I tossed in my compost bin.
Also got my hands on a set of patio doors which will eventually be used as part of a greenhouse I have plans for, intended to be built with upcycled materials.
Seedlings coming along nicely.
I've purchased a small fibreglass hatchet on sale at CTire (Yardwork?); the price was right.
Bucked, split and stacked a little less than a cord of wood through the weekend. This is hard work... using a chainsaw and 9T log splitter. Gives me a better appreciation of how our ancestors would have done it with saw and axes! I have another 1/2 cord or so left to process and a remaining 1/2 cord of well seasoned birch and tamarack left from this year. The new wood isn't great (mostly poplar), but it was free and dumped in my yard.
A pack of 2x 20L gas Jerry cans. $25 for 2 at Costco, I thought the price was right. I want to grow to a dozen 20-25L cans so I can get in the habit of rotating a can a month.
In the meanwhile, I used the Easter weekend to rotate a bunch of cans into the truck since the gas prices jumped 20% this long weekend.
Still working on finishing splitting and stacking another cord of wood.
2 30lb propane tanks
2 israeli bandages
5 turniquets
2 dressing shears
12 silk sutures
lots and lots of garden planning...snow is almost gone
Denob,
If you got CAT tourniquets, make sure they are ready for use by taking them off the plastic wrapper and pulling back the last end of the Velcro tab. Trying to open the plastic wrapper in a hurry, with bloodied hands is near impossible. Bending back the Velcro tab makes cinching that much faster.

yes, 3 of them are CATs. 2 for IFAKS and one for practicing.
The practice taught me about taking them out of the packaging...good idea with the velcro.
Might sound over zealous, but I always keep a tourniquet around when I use the chainsaw.
