"what the heck you talkin about", "dont worry about it", we're ok" equals ?, nice find singlecell, how many of you outthere think the powers to be can go underground by the push of a button
Ya sure they can!
It's no big secret that there are bunkers designed for just that purpose...
But nuclear war with Russia?
Over what...Ukraine?
Not going to happen!
Not trying to diminish the importance of the situation over there or undermine Ukrainians as a people, but there is NO WAY this is going to start a nuclear war.
I go back to the Syria "showdown" and there was fear about WW III starting with russia there. Its just fear mongering....in 6 months there will be another global concern dominating the media and people will make that into something more than it is.
Don't get me wrong, whats happening in Ukraine is not pretty, and horrible. But like Syria, and every other issue that arises, it doesnt mean the end of the world as we know it...

they voted and its legitimate
Historically, Crimean peninsula belongs to the Russians, was "gifted" to the Ukraine by Nikita Khrushchev in 1950', 80% of population are ethnic Russians and Russia invaded it to "protect Russian people's rights"
Crimea is listed as being owned by: Cimmerians, Greeks, Scythians, Goths, Huns, Bulgars, Khazars, the state of Kievan Rus', Byzantine Greeks, Romans, Kipchaks, Ottoman Turks, Golden Horde Tatars and the Mongols; all before the 13th century. In the 13th century, it was partly controlled by the Venetians and by the Genovese; they were followed by the Crimean Khanate and the Ottoman Empire in the 15th to 18th centuries, the Russian Empire in the 18th to 20th centuries, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and later the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic within the Soviet Union. In 1991 it became part of independent Ukraine, as the Autonomous Republic Crimea together with the city of Sevastopol.
If we're going to assign ownership based on who had it first, the Russians have absolutely no claim to it, because they were roughly 20th in line. Realistically whomever rightly owns it are either the first or current owners, because anyone in between acquired it from someone else.
You really can't just look back into what I would consider recent history to determine who has the rightful ownership of something. Take southwestern states that boarder Mexico for example. Here is a great piece on determining who has the rightful claim to land based on that example.
Why "independent" Europe is silent about that terror which untied NATO concerning the free countries - Iraq, Yugoslavia, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan?
Same thing happened here in the US backyard with the "Commonwealth" of Puerto Rico. If I use your words then the more than 3 times the people have "voted" to stay with the US would be considered illegal because of the military presence in the island and the economic pressure the local government was put by the US? 🙄 😉 😉
they forget the Missile Crisis in Cuba in the 60's which they almost brought the world to WWIII. Or when the Sandinistas won in Nicaragua and took out the US backed dictator of Somoza in 1979, they then financed the Contras guerrilla warfare against them and last but not least "Operation Urgent Fury" in 1983 when they invaded The Caribbean island of Grenada and took out the democratically elected government because they "leaned to the left" The excuse? To "protect" American citizens, a bunch of med school rejects. 😯
They used the same excuse Putin used to send his troops.
Is interesting to see the double standard....just saying 😐
I agree that the Ukraine situation is not going to start a nuclear war, the same as Syria didn't. BUT I think Putin is counting on this. He knows perfectly well that the west isn't going to put up military resistance that could escalate into WWIII. Basically, he knows he cam do whatever he wants and get away with it. The questions in my mind are how far will he take that and how far will he have to push before we do say enough is enough and use military force against him.

Nato has NO MORE CREDIBILITY since iraq invasion by USA .. Nato say NO to american intervention.. dont go in iraq
the NATO didnt agree whit usa invidading iraq and they did it anyway seeking for virtual weapon of mass destruction that they never found
how many more years do we have to undergo such military action from america
they didnt kick out from the NATO american for this nor economical pressure has they planning to do actualy at russian
once again there a double standard
this is reflecting only my own opinion
to me the actual world top politician is named vladimir putin
hes the only who got balls of steel and dare stand up agaisnt american
has canadian my bigger concern its someday we will get lot of trouble because our neighbour try to rule the world
and has canadian i feel absolutely no threat from russia compared to american gorvernement manipulating of our government like a puppet
look the result now .. iraq its total fail, lybia total fail , afghanistan total fail and yet not much economical interest in syria to go fail there again
peace
Is this stand up comedian or a president? What was wrong with that question? Everyone is laughing and Obama answers with jokes? Pathetic. Maybe he should've said we're scared and can't do anything about Russia so nuclear war is out of the question. All we can do to show our "power" is to give sanctions to 15 Russians EXCLUDING Putin 😀 . America can't fix their own problems , let alone anywhere else in the world. Guy is a joke
All we can do to show our "power" is to give sanctions to 15 Russians EXCLUDING Putin 😀
Russian lawmakers ask President Obama to impose sanctions on them all
ahaha that make me laugh 😆

It's a big joke and everyone knows it. They are publicly making fun of him and the rest of the countries that imposed sanctions on them
Both sides are using the Ukrqaine for their own means. It's just that Russia has it's back to the wall with the EU standing on their doorstep. The US would be throwing nukes right now if that were them instead. Since WWII, Russia has been made the"common enemy" to unite may countries to form NATO, the UN and now the EU. Whenthe Iron Curtain fell, our leaders couldn't sell this threat to us anymore, so they created a new enemy, "the terrorist". This was so they could still justify maintaining the military to fufill their needs to occupy and steal resources from those who happened to not be in their little club. Funny how predictions such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXS3vW47mOE and has proven to hold alot of merit are not brought up today.
Nor the mention that Putin's election for Cremea won with 96%. He was even smart enough to invite all nations to witness the vote for fairness, of which 27 countries participated with 70 officials attending, but both the US and Canada refused to participate so they had plausible denial. Meanwhile sanctions against Russia would hurt many of the european countries as they get 1/3 of the heating fuel from them while doing little to hurt Russia. I found this link which shows a variety of compelling evidence that the EU staged much of the Ukrainian protests https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWkfpGCAAuw and haven't given the rest of Ukraine the option to vote yet, while they immediately recognized a world banker as the new leader of Ukraine....i thought were a democracy? Why are we backing a dictator and Russia has a democratic vote? I hope the rest of you are as lost on that as I am.....oh well, watch the video instead!
