Thanks TCO. Im glad you brought the subject up. In the unusual life I have lived, during one period I worked with a group that rescued people from cults. It is not lost on me how much of the same behavior is prevalent in prepper culture. Part of the problem is building identity on "Secret Knowledge" to separate "us" from "them" relieving responsibility. As time goes buy, the Rush of secret knowledge hits the law of diminishing return forcing the addict to seek a greater high...which separates them more and reinforces further separation.

Well, I have seen some of what this article discusses first hand.
I once began to debate a popular conspiracy theory about the government intentionally killing us with chemtrails.
My point was that if they wanted the population dead, they had the ability to do so without taking decades to slowly poison us with a top secret and very expensive plan...there are more effective ways to do it, and the theory proposed just made no sense.
Of course, I was immediately accused of being a government agent that was hired to prevent the "real truth" from being exposed.
In much the same way, any educational institution which brings forward any contradictory evidence, will be accused of being part of the government mind control program...
It seems to me that anyone who brings forward any plausable explanation or alternative view of the conspiracy will simply be dismissed as being part of it.
An all too easy and very convenient blanket approach.
