Ok gravlore but you are making the ultimate choice for them that could mean life or death. Enough of the scenario, is it a valid question or more importantly, is there a better question to test and quantify ones psychological preparedness?

I agree with you Gravlore. People might "want" to say that they would choose a particular path when in fact they would, in reality choose, another. However this is only intended to be a guide giving everyone a chance to see where they want to be vs. where they are. People are not always honest with themselves, that life. This is a very difficult scale to develop. Thank you so much for your help and insight. I think by working together we can achieve amazing results.

Gravlore, I think the point of the excersize is to get us to evaluate ourselves, not each other. I've learned that in some categories I'm doing not bad. In others, I suck. Seeing how others rate themselves is interesting but in the end, what's important is learning for myself how I'm doing. Yes, I'll admit that I do compare myself to others but in the end it's about where I am on the scale. Not where others are at.

I agree Gravlore. Whenever someone on these forums makes a comment that elicits an immediate response, then they've made a worthwhile comment. Whether we agree or disagree with the comment, it has started a debate. Unfortunately, as you've pointed out, some choose to use insults in response. We're lucky in these forums. Those who insult rather than debate, are few and far between. None of my posts have ever, or will ever be intended as any kind of personal attack, but they are sometimes an invitation to debate. 😎

The five point scale for psychological preparedness (mindset) has generated quite a bit of discussion and brought forward new considerations. I don't think that this one is quite perfected yet but we are close. So now I would like everyone's thoughts on a five point scale for "being part of or preparing a group ".

Tazweiss put it perfectly when he said " the point of the exercise is to get us to evaluate ourselves". To see far along that scale we want to go and how close we are to achieving that goal. So what are everyone's thoughts on items for a five point escalating scale for your personal preparedness of being part of or preparing a group?

I admit, when i saw the topic, the first thing that came to mind was something my father said. It was specifically about wilderness survival when I was a child, and we lived far enough north that if you picked the wrong direction to travel when you got lost, the next street sign you'd see would be in Russian. I use it as a rule of thumb for prepping and attitude.

"If you're lost in the bush, the most important thing you can remember is the Rule of Three;
You can survive three minutes without air, three hours without shelter, three days without water and three weeks without food. React accordingly."

Something else to add to your Rule of Three; The average response to an attack is three seconds. 🙂

Someone once told me that you can survive three years without sex. 😆

Hopefully the attacker isn't a marksman. In that case, the three second rule wouldn't matter. 😆

Maybe, but I don't know if I'd want to. 😉
