Like the title says... I prep my water stores, I prep my food stores, I prep my ammo stores. I practice and fine tune ,my survival skills. But all the prepping in the world could not help me today when a jackass ran a red light on a rural road. I was amazed that if I was travelling north bound at approximately 90 km per hour, and all of a sudden I hit a vehicle that drives in front of me, how the hell do I end up 40 meters east of the intersection. Sure he flipped and rolled a few times and ended up upside down on his roof...
I guess I should just thank my lucky stars that I walked away unscathed. ( other than the severe whiplash and starting to feel chest pains(seatbelt probably))
Did I mention I had two payments left on my finance? The cop told me that that was the third collision at that intersection. I guess I'll be a little more vigilant when I drive that way next time. I'd like to add for the record, that is my first accident in my 44 years on this rock... And I drive a lot. Drove a police car for 8-10 hours a day for a few years. All of that advance pvo.. Oh well... I'm still here and was able to hold my children one more time. Thank you ( insert your God here).
Glad to hear you made ok considering the situation. You are right, can't be prepared for absolutely everything...
Yikes...glad you were relatively unscathed.
Maybe you were somewhat prepared by having a durable vehicle?...

Vehicles can be replaced, but you can't! Very glad you're OK.
I just found this thread and agree fully with the logic of appreciating life and all it's ups and downs! Our vehicles are replaceable and escaping unscathed is always a good thing. And I enjoyed the ending especially... Thank you ( insert your God here).
With all the craziness that in this world these days, we often don't remember to appreciate the basics like our health until we no longer have it. Thanks for this reminder.
Well, today I feel even worse. The pain has exponentially increased. However, after speaking with one of the cops who told me he couldn't belive that I survived that, I will be even more optimistic than ever before. I recall on the way to the hospital when the paramedic asked me if I was alergic to anything. I replied to her,"Air bags".
I have always lived life with that ," Live every moment as if could be your last", because you never know when it will end or change... I'm glad that I was able to give a subtle reminder to some of you nice folks.
