Go to some of the sponsors on the Canadian Gun Nutz website. Prices around 799 and only about 30 for shipping. Check a few as some offer free shipping

nothing wrong with a JR and they're non-restricted, check with the Gun Dealer. http://www.thegundealer.net/
located in NB, but great prices and ships anywhere in Canada.
Thanks all.
They seem to be $899 accross the board in Canada. Can't find a deal anywhere. The store in NB, ON, and even out west are all $899! 🙂
BTW, thanks also for the link to CGN. I don't know a whole pile about firearms and that place is a trove of information! Even reviews on the JR Carbine.

I own a post Dec 2012 model in 9mm. It has yet to fail in any way through 750 rds. Only issue I have is that it cannot be disassembled without an allen key. I highly recommend it.
Al Flaherty He's in Toronto or Elwood Epps on hwy 11 north of barrie
Both have websites and delivery
Not a bad little gun I had one but got bored with it real quick

I am so glad I saw this post.
I had not seen that Model before but definitely like the looks of it, for me it's about keeping some continuity with Ammo stockpiles. A 9mm rifle is something I was looking for but did not know there was a non-restricted option like this one.
I did the same thing with a recent purchase of a 1892 Winchester in .44 Magnum because I was already buying Ammo for the Model 629.
It only makes sense to me that one should have the least variety of Ammo possible.
Question to the Mule Skinner, why did you get bored with it? Was it because the style of it cries out to have lots of rounds slammed through it instead of 5 at a time?

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty, well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, used up, worn out, shouting Wow! What a Ride!
The because of the ammo used in a jr, your not restricted to a 5 round magazine. You can go as big as u want. When you buy it, it comes with a 10 round magazine.

In Canada you can only go as big as 10 rounds (pistol max). It's a great gun, but I also got bored of mine a little. Right now my favourite is my mini in a Sparta stock
Ellwood Epps has new & used ones...New are about $900 and used are about $650-$700..
Now for the part you probably don't want to hear....sorry, but I just dont see the point of a handgun caliber rifle. I understand why people like them, because pistol ammo is cheap and can be used by your same pistol, and magazines if you have a glock, and they are light and handy little rifle....My reason why I find them pointless (all pistol caliber rifles) is because they can be stopped by a regular bullet proof vest, with no plates. I believe if shtf there will be many people wearing bullet proof vests...especially the people that will be attacking you...Just think of how many thousand bullet proof vests are in Ontario alone. Not many civilians have them, but with all of the police, military, and security guards will be targeted by desperate people. Every desperate scumbag will know someone who has a cop, soldier, or guard in the neighbourhood, and will know that they can get guns, ammo, and a vest from their house, and if shtf which causes a breakdown of society then most of these people will be at home protecting there own families. Any scumbag could easily break into a home when the power grid fails and no alarms or lights work and easily overpower a sleeping cop with a knife, or grab their wife or kids and hold a knife to them until the scumbags get what they want and leave.....point being, a 9mm or 45acp wont stop someone if they have a vest on, and are a threat that requires deadly force if shtf....and people wearing vests will have weapons, which is why a centerfire rifle is what I will be using if shtf & I am needing to defend myself and my family....A light handy CZ858, AR15, Ruger mini14, etc, is the gun that should be used in self defence if shtf against scumbags
Just on a side note...If you just want a cheap plinker for the range like how a .22lr would be used, then I sort of understand the point of a 9mm carbine IF it was as cheap as a 10/22, but at $1000 with tax you could get a light, handy, and cheap to shoot 223 caliber Norinco type 97 non restricted that takes stanag magazines, so you can use LAR15 10 round mags legally....and if shtf, and there are no laws or government, you unpin some 5/30 round AR15 mags and your packing some serious firepower (obviously never unpin a magazine with current Canadian laws or your going to jail for prohib firearm laws, but if shtf & no laws existed anymore, thats different).
Another note...I recently watched a documentary on the navy seals that stated a rifle is a seals only real weapon that is ever used. They carry 45acp sigs as a side arm, but in the entire history of the navy seals, their handgun has killed an enemy so few of times that all documented seal handgun kills can be counted on one persons 2 hands ( I think they said approx 6-7 handgun kills in total in the history of the navy seals that dates back to the vietnam war to now...They always carry a 45 handgun & train with it alot, but for cqb they use short, light ARs or I believe the P90 because they dont use MP5s because standard body armour stops a MP5s 9mm bullets....Even stealthy kills are not used by a suppressed pistol, they are using small, light centerfire rifles, with a suppresor and low velocity handloaded ammunition...A 65gr 223 reloaded with a fraction of a full power round traveling at 900fps will get the job done, and with twice the range of a 9mm at 900fps thats suppressed...Sorry for the lecture, but Im assuming since your on this forum, shtf is a priority in guns purchased.

Sound advice from my POV. Even out of a longer barrel with higher dwell time and increased muzzle velocity, you're still using a pistol round and will not have anywhere near the performance you'll find in a rifle round out of any functional length of barrel.

Actually, the number of documented kills using handguns in the US Navy SEALs is quite a bit greater than twenty. As for quiet kills using a suppressed pistol, it is done more often than you realize. The SEALs were the reason for the S&W Mk22 Mod0 "Hush puppy" and its replacement HK Mk23 Mod0 being made. They do use Sigs, P226s & P220s are the most common iterations. Regarding suppressed rifle rounds, Special Forces units only very rarely run subsonic rifle rounds and even then they are running much heavier ammo than commonly found in 5.56N weight ranges, usually 220gr .300AAC. The suppressed rifle sees muzzle velocities akin to or greater than those of an unsuppressed rifle using standard pressure ammo. Even when I did my last job running CQBRs we were using 75gr ammo we got issued for the tasking. We used suppressors and did not use any cold loaded ammo, even in this, a very heavy round in 5.56N.

I am not worried about people wearing armoured vests. My training was such that body armour is rendered moot. I do however recognize its value and have a set of the good stuff. I'm not worried about anything up to 30.06 M2 rounds at any distance... provided the X-ray attempts a COM shot 🙂
As for breaking in and overpowering a cop or soldier in his sleep, the wheel goes round, dontchaknow. Besides, SOP dictates home made alarm systems, irregular sleep schedules and friends and family taking watches.
