I recently required the services of a "Bowen Therapist" after tripping over my own feet when out "limp running" (that's the running you do when you have a ruptured achilles tendon) which resulted in a rather painful injury to my upper back and neck (plus some gravel rash and a ripped shirt) 😳 . For 4 days I could not turn my head without extreme pain (and I'm not a sook), I could not lift anything with my left arm, and I could not sleep. So, I made an appointment and "endured the treatment" and the therapist told me that
I would think he was Christmas in about 4 days[end quote].....well, I think he's Christmas after 3 days.
You may wonder why I am telling you this - if you have back and neck pain (or any other pain for that matter) and have tried the conventional methods with no relief, then I would suggest that you give Bowen a try. Reasonably priced and it does work! I'm intending to make an appointment and see if he can help with the achilles tendon next.
Hmmm! The jurys still out on that one - but, hey if it works for you - go for it.
I was looking at being put on the scrap heap around 85 with a visit to the GMO to pension me off after being laid up for 9 months - stuff that I put my resources to the test and found a accupunturist 2 hours drive away from my residence down south - after a year and a half - all good. Did suggest this to others but they never had the same success as me - so if it works for you go for it.
I'm old, tired and crotchety - what's your excuse???
I'm open to trying new things but I prefer to not have to take medications unless I absolutely have to which is why I tend to visit a natural practitioner rather than a doctor (unless I have no option). I've never tried an acupuncturist (yet) but I would have to travel over an hour to get to one. The chiro could not fit me in for several days but the Bowen therapist is local and he had an appointment available for the same day......I went with the Bowen, and I'm happy. I am sleepin' tonight 😉

Yep - if it works - go for it.
I wasn't convinced about the acupuncture either - hate needles - turn woosie very quick - no machoism then - just total terror - clammy - cold sweats - better believe that.

Not bitin' FNQ'er, I hate needles too. Fillings with no needles, stitches when required with no needles. They have to pin me down to give me a needle 😆 Not joking either....totally serious.

That's great Susannah 😀
I took my son to get acupuncture after he fell of a roof...oh dear long story...landed on a ladder that landed on a trestle that broke his fall but bounced him on the ladder hitting his neck, leg, elbow very badly, x-rays showed no damage but he was pretty damned sore for a long time so took him for acupuncture.
He was pretty good then after only a couple of days....he fell asleep on the table with all the needles in him 😆
Only gets a slight twinge in his elbow sometimes so I may take him back again some time soon.

OUCH, I'm glad it helped him......obviously it doesn't feel like getting a regular needle then?

Surprisingly I would get about 30 -36 each time - just didn't want to know about the long ones and he had to physically tel me all were gone after he removed them - but yeah - I feel asleep often my visits went from weekly to fortnightly to monthly - then finished now for years as that was completed in about early 1987 approx.
pity other needles weren't so easy to take - but as i said - I never looked at them.
