That wild parsnip is a pain. Benadryl cream is about the only thing I can think that quickly stops the sting; after a good rinse.

I also have sutures at home, but am dreading the thought of Mrs HP stitching me up: I'm the one that does all the sewing at home.

So for the wild parsnip, as you know the oil that gets on your skin is then turned on by sunlight, so keeping a stock of blue dawn the orginal is good idea, it take the oil off your skin if you get nipped on it..

While those creams do help.. for a natural way jewelweed is your wanted plant.. and for those that are like.. prove it..jewelweed is well studied.. so hit the google..

When I get a few blisters on the hand, in usually just take a knife blade and drag across to pop any blister and rough up the skin a bit and then apply a hot face cloth to them to help pull up the puss, dry with Kleenex and quickly hydrogen peroxide to The area. Then spritz a few more times and it Usually gets rid of it in a day. But this time was ugly.

Yah that suture needle looks thick and I don’t relish the day that needs to be used. Any tips on home made recipe to numb the area besides ice applied to the area and alcohol For refreshment?

The wife is a big believer in steri strips and I have to say I have seen her patch up the kids pretty good with them

Steri strip and butterfly closures work well.

There is lidocaine gel but I’m not sure I would apply it on the edge of an opened wound. Then again, if my wife had to sew me up (Lord have mercy), then I would probably do ice, lidocaine and a few good swings of whiskey.

i love crazy glue.. you need to leave the drainage hole but dang it can do the trick on certain kinds of wounds

Clarence, I am the poison ivy queen! I get it annually, sometimes so bad my eyes swell shut - I've even had to go on Prednisone it was so bad. Here's what I did for the open sores on my arms: I cut off the toe of my oldest cotton or wool socks and used like a bandage to cover the oozing blisters, pulling it on to my arm (or leg) - change often. Calamine lotion is great to use too after washing the area with sunlight bar laundry soap. I've tried nearly every remedy there is. Don't forget your bed sheets either, and towels, and the furniture you sit on (cover) and even the family outdoor pet who might have the oils on their fur 😉

Have tried the calamine but “mah” Never sleep in PJ’s but did this time to not spread to the good wife. This time she insisted on sheet changes. Plus side, snows here inn few months so won’t have worry about that, just frostbite 😯
