Hello all, new to the forum but have been into serious prepping for about a year and half. I've always been into the self-sufficent frame of mind so i guess i was a prepper and didn't know it. I started to get serious about prepping after watching - and i know the show can be a bit korny - Doomsday Preppers. love the show, i think there are some serious preppers on there but sometimes it makes me laugh 😀 , NatGeo is all about ratings, but it did get me to start thinking more about really being prepared for anything that might occur.

There have been so many events in just the last 200 years not to be preppared including localized disasters, close calls, and some events that if they happened today would be a global disaster. Things like this event in 1816, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Without_a_Summer . Imagine if that happened today! Or the solar storm of 1859 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_storm_of_1859 . I know so many people that if there wasn't a drive thru, they would just curl up and die, not me.

Looking forward to networking with any preppers in my area and sharing and learning from all on the forum.

Have a great day!
