Well, first shortage of products has hit me. I needed to order some 18650 cells from my local supplier for a battery rebuild and when I checked his stock he is out of almost all the good cells. No eta on restocking...…
Right when I have it tore apart, worse time ever.
This is an excellent title for updates.
Have a hunch we may see more if enough people participate.
I have been out buying various things and Can’t get a valid read on shelf stock.
After tonight’s ottawa news, it may have an impact, be interesting to see. Of course, before the news reports anything, the truth or obvious will be out and people will be screwed. So these forums will help those who are trying to stay ahead of the curve.
Speaking with my wife tonight, we or I in particular had to have a laugh at how valid my efforts have been over the years. Good inventory of stuff and light years ahead of my fellow citizens and friends.
Only thing I can say is in short supply is some blood pressure meds.
Let’s keep this page going
Love the initiative!
If people are out and about this weekend, it would be fun to pay attention to some of the shelves. And try chatting up people in a casual manner at the pharmacy, restocking staff... and hear what they report and pass along
While not a shortage we are referring to, it does speak to that of others.
Just had convo with a well placed person. A supplier of XXXXX hygiene masks and other related goods to a health related group had a request from outside company for their entire stock of masks. Person said no, we need them for long time clients.
Guy calls back a day later at double the price. Bingo, sold!
Let’s remove any loyalty desires, the warehouse will eventually run out and then they have all the costs to run the place, pay rent, taxes, staff.... so that double profit will help them and their employees for a bit longer.
If things continue, Guessing there is and will be a fair amount of that happening. I know when I started out in business, it was bare knuckles survival for many years, lived on credit card debt to finance ops. A little off topic here but we will likely see these angles played out in where we normally shop. A small store may not get product because another one willing and able to pay snagged supplies. Fun times
Just in time delivery may be renamed to never delivery in time
Be fun to see what you can glean from friendly bank teller on increase in cash withdrawals
Well, I would have bet on hand sanitizers and masks to be the first to go...
Hit the pharmacy for my daughters inhalers. 2 of 3 were BO. That has never happened before.

Snit, that’s not cool at all.
Any chance of trying quebec side? Start hitting the phone and calling other pharmacies and ask them to hold until your/ her pharmacy faxes over the request,
Highly recommend no time be wasted in sourcing out other options. Various gov folks have said on TV to stock up on meds so time may be really running out. Good luck
Reading up on NYC.
“ 1.5 million surgical masks have also been bought for healthcare professionals and first responders, including the NYPD.”
Yet latter in the article, they say they need another 300,000 !
Sounds like a lot but a mask can only be worn once! That’s a lot of masks needed each day!
Now with every city and small town needing masks, where will they come from?
ADDITIONAL NOTE/ update: 1.5 million masks equals 15 day at one mask per day for only 100K people. guess how many police are in NYC? 55K
doesn't leave much for ALL the other workers ( nurses, ambulance, front desk folks, community care, garbadge department, municiple water work employees........ or others on the front line and needed to keep the city glued together.
heres another one "NYC Says Testing Kits Are Unavailable (3:15 p.m. NY)
Testing kits for the new coronavirus aren’t yet available in the U.S.’s most populous city."
You really have to love a good plan don't you! these folks are like some people we know that have a few cans of food and a regualr small fridge freezer half full of meat, egg rolls and icecream and tell us we over react and they will be just fine.
what a snit show this could be.
I’ve already secured what I need elsewhere.
Hubby popped over from his work space to the closest larger Drug Store to grab extra hand sanitizer for his desk area.. but not a single one to be found in any of the three stores he checked at noon today..
Hmmm.. and that would be our first full miss that we have found yet..

Just occurred to me, with containment being the most effective method of preventing transmission at least until a vaccine comes out. I expect the world wide tourism market to get hit hard. Would not want to employed in that section of the economy.
(mexico will get hit hard by that)
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.

looks like it's hit or miss on a lot of these items. I picked up 5 8oz bottles and 4 4oz bottles today. Also saw N95 masks at one store.
While in line to pay, another lady asked the cashier for facemasks. The cashier replied that they were sold out (later figured out that they were talking about the procedure style masks). We tried to tell her to get the N95 ones that they had in stock, but she kinda blew us off.
Can't help those that don't want to listen.
On the other hand, a lot of people are seeing them in China on the news and think they are effective.
As preppers were are subjected to a wealth of resources. Personally I have seen Dr.Bones & Nurse Amy all over the web for the past 3 weeks or so.
The MSM is only now starting to catch up, and I would hope to see some good public education soon, but I doubt I will.

I have noticed the same thing about even officials, mentioning a few “months” worth of meds! One US gov ( they are far more open about this need or logic) said to get in a months supply of food. Hopefully and I am sure it will for many, increase people’s readiness. Of course some will buy the wrong stuff or not store it properly and then complain that it’s all a waste but I am sure many will move forward and incorporate into their lives.
