Results are in, my additional batteries added in series with the pack have worked better than I hoped.Without pedaling I can hit 43km on the flat, and if pedaling I am right around 44-45km, I cant pedal faster as I would need a larger front chain ring, and I already bought and installed the largest I could find from Amazon. I know 45km doesn't sound fast but you have to remember this is a light bike, designed for 32kmhr, I am going over rough gravel roads and I don't think its at all safe for me to push it any faster. I took it out to test last night and at this speed I am definitely overdriving the head light, so I have ordered in a more powerful light to put on. I will ride again tonight to test it further.

After this evenings ride I can say that over 40kmhr isn't just over driving the headlight but over driving the brakes. You do not want to have to stop fast at such speed but is it ever a blast! I make no real noise to speak of, I over took another cyclist tonight and I was right beside him, passing before he knew I was there, and I left him in the dust wondering who was that masked man.

I am making one more addition to this bikes power system. It comes with a 16 amphr 48 volt system ( though I have now made that 16 amphrs at 52 volts), I will be adding another string of 13 18650 cells in parallel with the existing pack to roughly bring the total amphr capacity up to 20amphrs@ 52 volts. This will lift me to over 1kwhr of capacity in battery storage on this bike. Unlike my first battery mod, this wont increase the speed but will increase the range (not that its needed).I should state that you do not have to do any of the things I am doing to this bike, this bike is great right out of the box,as is, I am not even doing these things for more speed or range rather for cycle life of the original pack. These extra battery cells and such are really added to extend the cycle life of the original battery. I no longer have to fully charge up my original battery, or discharge it as much, the effect if you examine the data sheets on life cycles means I am going into the many thousands of cycles, in other words this battery, even though I ride 30+ km every few days will have a life span greater than I do. The few cells I am adding both in series and parallel are contained in a box on the back rack, where I am wiring and setting them up I don't actually have to modify the original battery in any way. The way these will be used and wired up is so these batteries in the back do the heavy lifting so to speak, full charge!! Note how easy they are to replace, So if I should be so unfortunate to live longer than I anticipate, I wont likely ever have to buy a new battery only replace a few worked hard cells in the back at a low dollar cost.

view outside after I did a carbon fiber wrap.
Note the hidden switch on the under side of that box, I call that my "happy switch" I can swing my right hand back and give it a flick, then I am going well north of 40kmhr. I should just add, none of the things in this thread do you have to do to this bike, other than add a thud buster seat post and a gel seat. This is a great bike right out of the box.
If I lived in the city, worked in the city, this bike is what I would use to commute with, likely 9-10 months of the year. Wait, no I am a older dude now, the cold gets to me, 8, maybe 9 months if I buy heated gloves and jacket.
This is a excellent commuter bike as it comes, I hate shilling for a product/brand but I have to say it meets advertised specs. Price is at the low end of Electric bikes, but after a couple thousand km I just cant find a serious fault with it. Guys on the bike forums are going north of 10 000km on these units without replacing any parts.

My new light came in. I am mounting it on the front fork. After finishing this install I realise it doesn't look right to have just one light on the left fork, The symetry is off, I need to have a matching one on the right. I tested this light tonight and its blinding, I will need to dim it or turn it off if there is oncoming traffic.
I am very much turning this into a "mad max" bike. I don't think my truck high beams are as bright as this light.

I have a bit of bike envy going on... And you say the fat tires go smoothly over Alberta’s finest gravel roads?

Way more stable on gravel, fresh gravel, rough gravel, soaked mud/gravel, across wet fields where a ordinary tire would just sink in. Snow as well, I have gone down cut lines on this bike, I used it a lot last January and it plowed through snowy roads, but without studs on the front you have to watch your speed turning, its easy to wipe out on a turn in the snow, but not if you put on a studded front tire (I have yet to do that).
Edit: I should add in case you are looking at buying one of these, go for the small frame, I think that's the 17 inch, their regular size is the 20 inch. I cant even imagine how enormous that must be, I would need a ladder to get on it. I have the small frame and trust me on this, it is larger than any regular bike I have, have ever been on, or seen. Any larger and I would be a soprano if I slid off the seat!

HP, can I tempt you more?
The green lights I have added so I can monitor voltage and current. because I was fumbuling around for my phone, my speed had dropped to 25kmhr when I took the picture, I normally cruise at 40 kmhr. 40km I have found to be the sweet spot for this bike, yes I can go faster but 40 is just right! and doesn't attract heat.
