We are going on a small road trip to get away from the prepper farm today....with a trip to Europe planned later in the year.

The reason?....Well this video came out today to explain why

Great video - this is something I try to consciously think about whenever I listen to people who have strong opinions on prepping, or how unreal "reality" TV is. On the other side of the coin it also means analyzing your situation to make sure you haven't minimized certain areas of prepping. It's all about balance which is sometimes difficult to manage especially if you are new to prepping and trying to take in all the information that is out there.

The phrase "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst" goes hand in hand in my opinion.

Great little video and could not agree more, while its important to keep working on things that could and would help in case something did happen, living each day in the here and now is so important. Taking moments out and just having fun is very much needed.. Work hard, play hard..

With "signs of the end times" everywhere, it's very hard not to run around screaming "the sky is falling". But as the world economy keeps kicking the proverbial can down the road. Everyone has bought into the idea that everything fine. And while realizing that things are not okay, it is nice to pretend everything is fine for a night and go to a distraction like a movie or take a week off and go to Cuba. Because when you are shivering in the dark it might be nice to remember the warm sandy beaches. And if you think those around you are tired of your dire prediction now they are going to be even more tired of your "I told you so" when it happens. So when that time comes maybe less "I told you so" and more memories of "remember when".

C5 you shared a cool montage video a while back that inspired that same thought in my head. Seizing the day, get ready with your preps but also living your life too. Very good reminders for us. So we don't get bogged down in our prepping.

Good video and good point. It is all about finding a balance in life. Do the things you need to do but also enjoy life and step back once in awhile and have some fun as well.
